GEVI HOUSEHOLD 30 lbs/Day Capacity Nugget Ice Maker

it was somewhat expensive but our previous ice maker, a Thereye, went out after only a year. (Although when our first Thereye went out after only a few months, the company sent us a replacement for free, which was really good!) I'm hoping this one will last longer. We tried a Euhomy nugget ice maker but it was rather small and didn't have an external water line hookup and had to be refilled every day. This Gevi ice maker seems like it will work out very well and is super quiet. I was able to hook my existing plastic water line right into it. I plan on running a drain line as well with a cut off valve so I can more easily run the cleaning cycle weekly.

This is our third try (first 2 were other brands) and so far, we are quite satisfied. If this one had a small led light in the reservoir, it would be perfect. The ice is great, cleaning is a breeze, and noise level is negligible. One piece of advice we can pass on - use ONLY distilled water for cleaning and ice making - you'll thank yourself later.

This ice maker is way better than the Opal 2.0. I had the Opal 2.0 for 2 years. It was such a pain in the neck, required so much maintenance, and kept giving me the "add water" error even though I was descaling it every two weeks. Really crazy how much work it was. This one is so so much better. I do the descaling every 2 weeks and that is it! It works! The ice is not quite as crunchy as the Opal 2.0 (which is exactly like Sonic ice), but it's close enough and so much less maintenance.

love love love this ice maker. we hooked it up to a water line so no need to fill water so always have ice available. Family of 6 and it makes more then what we need.

I had a very expensive nugget ice maker that I will not name but it was one of the first on the market. This nugget ice maker is great! A little noisy at night when the house is quiet but other than that, it is definitely worth the money!

Excellent ice. The machine is quiet and makes the ice fast. The machine is insulated enough that the ice keeps frozen for a long time. I definitely recommend this machine.

Love the ice this machine made but we did not like that you had to open and close the door to get it to continue making ice. We would have to restart the process every morning….

I don't like that I don't know which button to press to make it make ice. It has an on off button, but when you press the on button, it doesn't make ice. It has a snowflake button and a waterfall button and you're not sure which button to press to make it make ice. I have tried pressing both buttons, and still can't determine which button should be enabled to make it make ice it seems to have a mind of its own and determines when it wants to make ice when either button is lit up I don't like that. I can't just press the on button and it make ice

Started squealing and making horrible LOUD noises after a week of use. Have been trying to return it but Walmart customer service both in store and on the phone is a JOKE!!! Don't buy this, save your money, time and sanity!!

Made 1 load of ice. Load of ice melted %26 leaked all over. Tried it again several months later now won't even make ice.
