Google Smart Light Starter Kit - Google Home Mini and GE C-Life Smart Light Bulb

The setup is remarkably easy! We bought two because they were on sale for $31 each. Normally the mini alone is $49! We have had some Google experience with a chromecast so we knew most of what we would have to do to use the lights. All we did was plug them in, open the google home app and they walked us through it! I love being in my bedroom and able to turn off the lights in the living room just by speaking. Hopefully the electric bill will go down with us able to monitor the lights even from an hour away! The "goodnight" and "goodmorning" phrases are set to perform specific actions and you can broadcast a message from any device! We have bought 2 extra bulbs and a smart plug since this purchase! Great feature is that you can dim the lights via a verbal command or using the app. Very excited to buy more soon! (In the photo posted they are at 10%)

I was on the fence about purchasing ANY system that is connected to the internet. To me they were intimidating. My son bought a Google Home system for his house and after learning how easy it is to use and how inexpensive it was, I thought why not. I purchased the google home system for my family room to play music and ask questions, etc. I liked it so much I purchased another for my bedroom. I have a very difficult time reaching the lamp next to my bed. I bought the google home mini and GE C-Life smart bulb and all I have to say is "okay google, lights out" when I am ready to turn in. No hassle no stretching for the light no struggles in the middle of the night if I have to get up. It is perfect!

I believe itsI believe its because he uses the guest access and it runs on a different wavelength. Double check before you purchase one.

My husband was adament about not wanting a wifi connected device. I on the other hand like adding convenience to my lige and this does just that. I wanted the light function for our bedroom so i could turn it on and off without getting up. Works great for that. Loved it so much we ended up buying more minis for the whole house to be connected. Great product for the price. I cant speak to the more expensive versions but this meets our needs well!!

purchased this for my little brother for Christmas and it was by far his favorite gift. he is 12. he uses in his room while playing fornite on his Xbox. he loved the fact that it came with a light that he can turn on and off by talking to it. set up was easy.i do also have an Amazon Alexa and Alexa can hear my taking from the other room, with the Google home mini you do have to be in the room for it to hear you but other than that this is a great product.

Very responsive for my light set up, but not for my Apple Watch I don't know why

This is the 2 nd Google Mini that we have bought. My Fiance has become obsessed with the "Smart" light bulbs hes bought 9 so far and has a different setting for each one. It's great to be able to turn on a light just by simply asking Google to turn it on. We can do all lights at once or just a specific lamp from 3 rooms away. If you don't have 1... I would definitely recommend it. IF you have a nerdy person to set it up. It definitely can be time consuming, but he enjoyed it so much he even set up a "Red Alert" to signal all lights to flash and turn Red in case of an emergency.

i cant get the bulb to stay connected. I've been in contact with Google support numerous times. I'm very disappointed in this product. I've spent many hours resetting the bulb. Google recommends Philips Hue, so I'm not sure why they would sell a GE bulb with the kit. Google wont stand behind the bulb because I bought it through a 3rd party. Google will not support your Google items unless they have been purchased through Google. Beware

This was a huge waste of time and money, the time being more valuable of the two in this case. It is a rip off. The mini is very limited, does not do anywhere near what Alexa does. The lights are a joke. I have 2 minis in my home one in kitchen and one in master bedroom. I have a total of 5 lights, You have to buy packs of 2. I am having so many issues with the 5 I have put in I don't want the 6th. It is an every day ritual to go back through the set up process with the lights. I have 2 different vendors. Sylvania and GE I have tried them together and separate with only 1 brand at a time, so I am convinced the problem is with Google Home, which are no help when you contact the "support" No one can tell me why the lights lose connection. All are in the same room with the lights which is a requirement, otherwise you have to use the app to make them work. I am ready to get rid of Google Home all together at this point and go back to Amazon and Alexa. Never should have changed big mistake. If its your first purchase, Don't Do IT!!
