GOYA Barley, 16 oz

I bought this to make beef barley soup but it can be cooked like oatmeal for breakfast or ground into flour. A very good price so I got two. I will buy it again!

I love this product as does my family. You can but dont need to wash this product. I love the texture of barley and the versatility. It is surprising that the package does not have instructions for cooking the barley, although it does have a recipe for soup. As barley is low on the glycemic index, this is a great carb that can take on flavors of a lot of things and a great replacement for white rice! Ive also never found a foreign object in the GOYA barley. There is a disclaimer on the back in regards to this.

This barley has been pearled, as most retail barley are, but not pre-cooked and flaked like the "quick" barleys I can find on the grocery shelf. So it has the texture and extra flavor I love. I got this brand because it was the lowest cost in a 1-pound package.

It is a good product. It's packaged well and the barley is a very good quality. It is budget friendly as well. I add it to my soups and it cooks very well.
