Quaker Quick Pearled Barley, 11 oz, Single Pack, Low Fat, Sodium Free

I use this barley every time I make Mushroom Barley Soup. The barley only has to cook for 10 minutes and the soup is finished. The taste is fantastic ,and you don't have to wait a long time before you can serve it. This soup comes out perfect every time. The price is right as well.

These are great for high fiber and low glycemic diet. They cook easily, I cook them in a rice cooker. It takes about 15 minutes. Nutitionally close to regular barley but in a quarter of the time.

I'm sure this can be used for many things - I only use it for adding to homemade soups - it adds taste, texture and make the soups a little more hearty.

I like using Quaker Quick Pearled Barley as an alternative for rice and pasta dishes. Very easy to cook, there is a delicious recipe on the box for chicken barley chili worth trying.

cooks really well made a Croatian dish cottage ham soup and you always need barley for that definitely want to put it in towards the end if you're making it a crock pot cuz they do cook up quick just like they say

I love this barley, the taste and texture is wonderful. I cook up a bunch of it, prince and store it in the fridge to use on salads, my soups and as a side-dish with my hot open face burger or chicken sandwiches.

This is the only barley I will use. It cooks within 20 minutes and a great addition to soups and stews. The last time I used regular barley, it took over 90 minutes to get it to the texture I was looking for. I don't have time for that, when a quick barley exists.

This grain is a great base for really tasty, high-fiber side dishes. Use low sodium chicken broth instead of water for cooking liquid. For Asian flavor, throw in garlic powder, onion powder, soy sauce, frozen peas, and slivered almonds or unsalted peanuts. For Cajun/Southwest style, add the onion %26 garlic powder, Mrs. Dash Southwest Chipotle seasoning (or regular cajun seasoning), smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and a little Worcestershire. It's only about 15 minutes to cook and you can use your imagination.

What was in the box was flattened oats not pearled barley.

I was making a soup with barley but, unfortunately, the barley I ordered wasn't delivered. My husband has to go out and getna box for me. Very sad situation.
