I am hooked on this oatmeal. The price is great! I could eat this all day. If you soak it in Walmarts milk overnight and in the morning add Better Goods Greek Yogurt and some frozen blueberries, I forget I'm a chocoholic. Although even if I just add to water to moisten the oats a little and then add the yogurt and cinnamon and cacao and frozen blueberries or strawberries, still delicious!!!!!! I never thought I'd be saying I could eat oatmeal for every meal! I highly recommend!!!!!
I AM 82 YEARS OLD AND STARTING EATING OATMEAL FOR BREAKFAST YEARS AGO. I CAN ADD WALNUTS, CRANBERRIES , BOWN SUGAR AND CINNAMON WHEN I WANT TO CHAGE THE TASTE UP A LITTLE. THE GREAT VALUE BRAND IS A FANTASTIC BUY, KEEP IT STOCKED ALWAYS. GOOD FOR YOU, AND A QUICK START FOR THE DAY. LOVE THAT I CAN CHANGE IT UP IF I WANT.
Winters here can be absolutely brutal - like cold to the bone. I swear, a nice bowl of hot oatmeal in the morning for breakfast helps take that chill off of me for the day. This is unflavored, which I love, because it gives me the opportunity to try something different at any whim. One day it may be cinnamon, honey, and raisins and the next I might pile it high with fruit. It's so simply to make, inexpensive, and it keeps ya full - which is also a huge plus with the prices of everything right now.
I literally will never go back to Quaker after getting into instant oats. brown sugar cinnamon? ezpz. honey nut banana? see above. apple cinnamon - look I could go on and on but just grab some fruit and your preferred glucose and go to town. delicious and the value is insane.
Good value for the price. I eat this for breakfast daily.I add blueberries and Mango and cinnamon and protein powder, kale, turmeric, black pepper, vit C powder,Cocoa, flaxseed meal, prunes, cashews, brewers yeast, lecithin powder, matcha powder and cocoa powder.
In all of my 75 years I still haven't figured where they "roll" these oats to or from??? However, that doesn't mean I exclusively buy one brand or the other. Price, how much I need and what is available. Exemplee gratia, yeah that's what that means, I think. When that other big box store is out of the super duper sized almost a sack, "Quakers", I get something else. And the best way to do a taste test, make your choice in water, add a little milk and butter and taste em. Which one you like better? And, how much you willing to spend? Okay you got all the oat stuff I can deal with. Enjoy, and go roll 'em somewhere.
This is a great deal. I mean I'm not sure that I've compared too many other things to this. I think I mean it may depend on how you cook it or how long but the quicker brand might keep us form a little more. I'm not 100% certain however I think it is a great deal and going this route enables you to add whatever flavors you want whether it be honey butter, fruit, brown sugar, regular sugar, chocolate chips it's it's a good deal all around financially, and I don't see why it wouldn't be as good as any other I may not be a professional though so don't hate me if my good review for it doesn't suit what you're used to
The consistency of the product is definitely acceptable and I have heard no complaints from those who usually eat this. I see no reason to not buy our grocery items at a lower cost when that is really the only choice we have until things (Hopefully.) improve.
As near as I can tell, oatmeal is oatmeal. Great Value 100% Whole Grain Quick Oats, 42 oz (note the size - I'm not talking about the 18 oz box) is just as good as any other brand of oatmeal and cheaper than most. The problem is not with the oatmeal but with the container it comes in. The container wall is perhaps half the thickness of other brands. Compare it to Tarket's Good %26 Gather or Food Club's 42 oz - both are generic brands. The container is flimsy and unable to handle being stressed. Which means that, when combined with Walmart's sketchy use of bubble wrap, home delivery is hit and miss. In my previous Walmart order, I requested 36 42 oz oatmeal - only 9 arrived in food-safe condition. Walmart was good about issuing a refund but still.... Getting a refund of that size probably makes me look like an unreliable customer. So, bottom line, I would only buy this product in my nearest Walmart which is 70 miles away:(
I have been buying this for YEARS. Suddenly the container has a weird chemical smell that has penetrated the oats. Thought it was a one off issue so I got a refund and temporarily purchased another brand. Just purchased this again through delivery and same issue. I will no longer be buying until the issue is fixed.
