Gold Medal Premium Quality All Natural Whole Wheat Flour, 5 lb

I always thought King Arthur Whole Wheat Flour was the best available in supermarkets. I was wrong. This make a very good loaf of bread! It's ground finer than KAF. It's more expensive than KAF whole wheat, which surprised me. It always needs to be delivered separately from a normal grocery order, but you generally get it the same day. It reminds me very much of an organic whole wheat I used to buy from a private mill during COVID, but more finely ground. Kneads easily and make a nicely risen loaf.

This is the only wheat flour I use when making my pastries, bread, bagels, or anything that I am baking and want that honey wheat flavor. Super easy to throw together in my bread maker, add some yeast, and let it go to work.The bread makers nowadays make this flower I must have in your kitchen instead of getting store-bought bakery items.

Bread baking just got more fun with Gold Medal! Thanksgiving rolls were a big hit!( I used a recipe designed for those w diabetes.)

My preferred brand for flour tortillas. But a note to the manufacturer…please verify that packaging is sealed properly. I ordered a bag of whole wheat flour, the store applied a label to close, upon delivery it was still open. I had to discard the product and ordered more flour.

Tends to be pricey and bread does not always bake and rise with consistency could be the freshness of the flour. Don't seem to have the problem with King Arthur or Price Chopper private label which is one third the price.

I cannot say how good the flour is because I can't use it (I'm sure it's excellent flour). The bag of flour arrived on Sept. 27th completely unsealed, and the BETTER IF USED BY DATE is Aug 15, 2024. This is unacceptable. Walmart should check the dates on the products and also make sure the bags of flour are sealed before shipping them.

The poor ratings is for the packing (or lack of it.) The item is shipped with an OPEN/UNSEALED top that is just folded over once. There is no plastic bag or anything. I opened the shipping box to find 1~5% of the flour all spilled out. I could imagine it being a lot worse. but still. not good Walmart. Not good...

Most bags of this flour are arriving open. There is a defect in the glueing process. Glue is being applied to the top flap, but there is no glue residue on the bag, where it's supposed to stick. Lot number - 24APR2025 GF 0913 Otherwise, this is GREAT flour. Just fix your glue applying apparatus.

I ordered it as a pick up order and the date was almost out…3 days left to use that much flour. I should have returned it when I got home. I think it would be safe to assume if you are taking to a home with a normal order, a business is not using it that quickly.

I would not recommend purchasing this item. Two weeks in a row, they have delivered me a completely open bag. Talk about disgusting. And both times I have had to request a refund. What a waste of time and money. I'll be looking elsewhere for flour to purchase.
