I am hooked on this oatmeal. The price is great! I could eat this all day. If you soak it in Walmarts milk overnight and in the morning add Better Goods Greek Yogurt and some frozen blueberries, I forget I'm a chocoholic. Although even if I just add to water to moisten the oats a little and then add the yogurt and cinnamon and cacao and frozen blueberries or strawberries, still delicious!!!!!! I never thought I'd be saying I could eat oatmeal for every meal! I highly recommend!!!!!
I prefer this quick oats over the standard 5 minute oats. I don't seem to experience digestive issues and I think these quick oats taste better. I cook them for a few minutes, probably longer than directions indicate. When done, oatmeal is always smooth and soft tasting. Never chewy, like regular oats. Saves money over name-brand. Comes delivered for free with walmart Highly Recommended
My husband eats this oatmeal every morning. It's easy to make and he likes it. He has always made it a certain way which others probably would not do. After adding water and cooking one minute, I add a few spoonfuls of honey and a little over half a cup of milk, and stir it, then cook it again one minute. Yes it is soupy and he drinks it...and likes it that way. He is 95 years old.
I AM 82 YEARS OLD AND STARTING EATING OATMEAL FOR BREAKFAST YEARS AGO. I CAN ADD WALNUTS, CRANBERRIES , BOWN SUGAR AND CINNAMON WHEN I WANT TO CHAGE THE TASTE UP A LITTLE. THE GREAT VALUE BRAND IS A FANTASTIC BUY, KEEP IT STOCKED ALWAYS. GOOD FOR YOU, AND A QUICK START FOR THE DAY. LOVE THAT I CAN CHANGE IT UP IF I WANT.
This is one of those products where the store brand is genuinely just as good as the name brands at a fraction of the cost. The 42 oz container is a great size that lasts a few weeks even with daily use. They cook up perfectly in about 2 minutes on the stovetop or in the microwave, nice and creamy without getting gluey or watery. Being 100% whole grain with no added sugar means you can sweeten and flavor them however you like, which I appreciate. I rotate between topping them with the Crazy Richard's peanut butter, fresh banana, honey, and berries depending on what I have on hand , it works great every time. Also use them for overnight oats and baked oatmeal and they hold up well in both. Clean ingredient list, good texture, consistent quality every canister. A true pantry staple I never let run out.
Winters here can be absolutely brutal - like cold to the bone. I swear, a nice bowl of hot oatmeal in the morning for breakfast helps take that chill off of me for the day. This is unflavored, which I love, because it gives me the opportunity to try something different at any whim. One day it may be cinnamon, honey, and raisins and the next I might pile it high with fruit. It's so simply to make, inexpensive, and it keeps ya full - which is also a huge plus with the prices of everything right now.
I love instant oatmeal is a very quick breakfast to make and you can add fruit or whatever you want to or extra vitamins or flavor. you can also make cookies and other things with it alike. and it's so shelf stable and last a long time until you're ready to use it. great or something to have in the shelf when you need it or want. thank you very much
This is a must have staple Buy more than one… its a quick meal Add raisins or anything I like to buy the largest size , it may be more economical Accidentally ordered the smaller size but its a good travel size And one could make their own individual oatmeal “bag/pouches” Great idea
Don't buy or eat!!! GV Quick Oats are obviously re-packaged, recalled oats, because they taste and look like they've been dusted in powdered white paint! The recall was supposedly plastic, but it's really paint!!!
The person who designed this container does not use this product at home. The plastic ring consistently breaks. It is then necessary to use a knife to cut into the plastic top until it is open far enough to pull with your fingers. The knife may cause small pieces of plastic to drop into the oatmeal. These small pieces of plastic do not enhance the flavor of an otherwise outstanding product. Sometimes when you remove the lid, the plastic frame comes loose from the top of the box. Every time thereafter that you make that early-morning grab of the top of the container, the lid and the frame come loose from the box and then you can add to your morning routine a clean-up of spilled oats. This has been a problem for some time but lately has become worse. Too bad that a healthy and otherwise enjoyable product is ruined by terrible packaging.
