Great Value Butter and Garlic Microwavable Rice, Ready to Eat, 8.8 oz Pouch

I love this product. It's easy to make, very convenient, shelf stable and tastes great! It cooks in 90 seconds in the microwave. I was concerned the rice would be a little al dente, but I was pleasantly surprised at the texture. It is fully cooked, with a lovely texture as if I had prepared on the stove, without being mushy. I am very impressed with this product. Great Value has a wonderful variety of flavors to choose from, and I purchased one of each! The Butter and Garlic is my favorite, though! It is a terrific value because you get a generous serving size. The package says it's one serving, but I was able to get 2 servings, when I used it with my stew beef. I would recommend this, it is delicious! Very flavorful, maybe add a little butter after microwaving. I will purchase this again.

If you love rice and garlic you are going to love this precooked rice. Pop in the microwave and you have a side dish, or part of a main dish ready in a couple minutes. I love to put a couple frozen burritos in the microwave, then the rice, pour rice around and over the burritos and toss some fiesta cheese over the top.. then back in to nuke it for another minute and its delish!

I bought so many of these rice in the pouches. They are so easy so convenient and so fast. You can prepare in a microwave. I use the stove top. It doesn't get mushy. I added some corn mushrooms. Great easy meal. Low cost delicious quick meal Good job Walmart. Another great product from you

It's very easy to prepare because it's already pre-cooked about eighty five percent. It has a great garlic and butter taste. One pouch gives me two servings. It doesn't need anything on it.

We had liked the great value Spanish rice, so we decided to try this one. Hubby likes this one even more. I pan fried some bay scallops in a little bit of butter and cooking Sherry and served them over this rice. It was delicious.

As far as the ease of preparation, you can't get easier!! Literally throw in microwave for 90 seconds and voila-rice side dish. I tasted it just out of the bag and it's not bad, but it's not something I would eat the way it comes. That said, I added a can of chicken breast, mushrooms, some chicken gravy and sea salt and pepper. That made it very good and definitely worth buying again! I think it could be really good with tuna, peas, green beans, mushrooms, onions, etc. Basically, I think it's a great base for whatever kind of casserole dish you want to throw together. It's what we used to call “leftover potluck”. Whatever meat and veggies you have in fridge will probably be good mixed in with this. You could also add whatever shredded cheese you like along with whatever else you mix in and bake it. I will keep it in my pantry for a quick throw together meal, but I would never eat it just the way it comes. There's a strong garlic flavor, which is fine with me-I love garlic in everything. I wish I could be more specific about what it was that made it not good plain, but I can't? It's just much better with casserole type ingredients added. As I mentioned, I will always keep it in the pantry and definitely enjoyed the quick prep and the value!!

For those like myself who can't get the hang of conventional rice preparation…..This product with its easy directions will jettison a combination of a formidable side dish,along with tonight's or any nights ENTRE!!!

It cooked like it was supposed to in the microwave but it was too garlicky for my taste. I know it says garlic but the garlic was very strong.

I don't believe this is what I ordered yet this is what I got Same thing with ordering chips they get sent to me, but they're nothing but sawdust totally insane. thieving company We'll just send you whatever we want and charge you

It tastes horrible! I love the plain long-grain white rice variety but definitely not the butter and garlic ones. To me, it doesn't taste like garlic at all.
