Great Value Cilantro & Lime Microwavable Rice, 90 Seconds, 8.5 oz Pouch

I usually make my own rice, but I’m also the only vegetarian in my home, so when I cook a meaty dish for the fam, I love these quick and DELICIOUS rice packets for my vegetarian dishes that Walmart also carries!!! I love this rice with Walmart’s chili lime “chicken” vegetarian meal!!!

I like the price and ease of preparation plus that fact that precooked rice once cooled and reheated, changes it's chemistry. It become highly resistant to breaking down in digestion so it acts like high fiber foods and adds stool bulk. Far fewer calories and way less sugar conversion in our body. It's also gluten free so great for anyone with gluten issues like IBS and other. It also tastes good as a side to me I can foods. Tough to beat the benefits.

Overall I like the ease with making and serving. Just open and microwave for 90 sec and you are done. Easy and good for kids to make for snack and safe. Doesn't burn and isn't overly hot tot touch. Nice alterative if you don't have time to make regular rice on stove for a quick supper. The taste is ok but rather bland, I don't taste the lime at all which I was greatly disappointed. Recommend you add it yourself after cooking. The texture was good and not mushy which I dislike mushy rice strongly so that was benefit. You could cook quick and use with any protein for hot dishes so is versatile just remember to add seasoning.

I rarely like to leave negative feedback. I've had most of the instant cooked rice, microwavable, and flavored. This item had the worst smell when I opened it. I've had the cilantro %26 lime flavored rice from other companies and even tried the same flavored GV cooked rice that comes in small 4 oz tubs, and at no time did I notice a weird smell . Anyway I placed in microwave and as it cooked the smell got stronger. a chemical smell. when done I tried tasting it but the smell was too intense, I threw the package away.

I received this in a grocery pick up. Expiration date was a year away and when I opened the bag it was mush, smelled awful, and looked like a moldy brain. Smelled my house up for days!

Most Great Value food items taste good, but wow…. this cilantro lime rice is TERRIBLE. Get any other brand or don't get it at all. Tastes like burnt wild rice with some sort of vague lime-ish flavor added. Yuck.

I usually make cilantro lime rice with Brianna’s dressing but this looked quick and easy. The taste was absolutely horrible. I know some people say cilantro tastes like soap and I have never had that happen to me until now. Would not recommend at all.

This was terrible! It tasted nothing like cilantro, lime, or rice. The smell alone was nauseating. Do not buy!
