These are the BEST. I was buying the Larabar, sure that there was some ingredients in it that were better than this bar which is why it was so much better. I have also purchased the Meijer store brand, but these are better! They're softer and super yummy. I eat a bar every morning with a smoothie for breakfast.
These are very soft, so people with poor teeth can eat them without any problem. They are delicious, and it is wonderful that they contain no sugar, so they are a healthy snack with beneficial fiber. The only thing I wonder about is why cashews are listed first on the list of ingredients, since they seem to have much more dates than cashews.
First time These cashew and date bars. Are so Good Highly recommend Thanks
Cashews are my favorite nut. Dates are one of my favorite fruits. When I heard about these bars I didn't believe that they could be just that. Well, they are, and they are good. I plan on making them a regular part of my diet.
I purchased these after seeing a promotion on a Mediterranean way of eating web site. It was an article written about healthy snacks from Walmart that align with Med WOE. I tried to like them but just couldn't. They appeared to be really only 2 ingredients but I can't imaging actually being shelf stable until august 10, 2024 almost a year from now without preservatives. The bars were super moist and had a decent cashew flavor, just not a texture I could tolerate.
Love the (Lara)Wally-bars. Love the discounted price. Really I do. And yeah, none of these Lara/Wallybar products are super healthy, but they 're way better than a snickers if you've got to snack. But opened one today...mold. Never found mold on any of the hundreds of Larabars that I've eaten, only eaten a few Wallybars and already one with mold. Kinda disappointed. I stored the box right next to the boxes of unmoldy larabars I bought at the same time, so no a storage issue on my end. Well, I'll only take off a couple stars, after all even if I throw away 1 in 10 they're still cheaper than the Laras, and taste exactly the same. But the bar packaging is sealed. Seal is unbroken. So the mold issue got in there at the factory. That does not inspire my confidence, I'm afraid.
I didn't think it was possible to mess up a breakfast bar containing these ingredients. I was wrong. I buy these bars for my husband but I grabbed the box for a road trip a few days ago. I took one bite and said, "Have you been eating these?" He said, "I ate one. I didn't like them." THAT'S why I had a whole box for the road trip. It was gummy. Tasteless. Cookie? Not even close. Disgusting. I normally don't go out of my way to leave a bad review but I hope I save someone else the experience of biting into this.
If you enjoy the taste of wet cardboard, then these bars are for you! I even asked a friend to taste one ~ just to make sure that it wasn't me or bad taste buds ~ and she agreed fully with my “wet cardboard” description!!! Not that we ever ate wet cardboard, but since it's possible that the smell of something can trigger a taste reaction, my description is a genuinely realistic one… unfortunately.
I almost always prefer the Great Value brand, and these bars were no exception. I found them to be just as good as the name brand. However, the last box is completely different. Borderline unedible. I may get another box to see if it was a onetime thing but they were so different I'd imagine it's a recipe change. I'll update accordingly.
If I could give these a minus rating, I would. They were bitter and looked like something I scraped off the bottom of my shoe. There were no cashew chunks or pieces at all. It was similar in appearance to the dried jam you find at the top of the jar if you don't clean it before closing the lid. The texture wasn't nice either. How they can call this a cookie is beyond me.
