This rice is great for every type of menu— Mexican, Asian, Middle Eastern etc. the quality and quantity are great for the money. I plan on using this brand from now on. Great flavor, cooks up well, not many broken pieces, texture is wonderful and works great in a rice cooker.
I have been using this Great Value long grain rice for sometime now and I must say it's very good and not expensive especially when you're on a budget.
Just as good as the name brand..... I purchase this Rice All the time.... Don't be turned off with Great Value Brand products..... you are making a big mistake.....
Son is into counting calories and this is a staple of his food daily . He eats it plain with his seasoned chicken but swears to it. So it must be good.
Man, listen—if you're building a solid meal from the ground up, you need a base that's reliable, versatile, and ready for whatever flavor you throw at it. This 16 oz bag of Great Value Long Grain Enriched Rice is the heavyweight MVP for keeping the kitchen running smooth. First off, let's talk about that "work smarter" versatility. This isn't just a side dish; it's a canvas. Whether you're pairing it with a hearty bowl of chili, using it to soak up the sauce from a savory stew, or whipping up a quick stir-fry, it understands the assignment. The long grain texture means it stays fluffy and separate after cooking—no mushy drama here—just perfectly tender grains that hit the spot every time. The 16 oz size is the perfect "stay ready" strategy for the pantry. It's compact enough to tuck away, but it packs enough volume to feed the whole family or meal-prep for the busy week ahead. Since it's enriched with essential vitamins and minerals, you're getting that extra nutritional boost while you're enjoying a classic comfort food. It's the ultimate value play for keeping the budget tight and the stomach full. Whether you're cooking up a tradition or trying out a new international recipe, this rice is the consistent partner you need. It's reliable, it's easy to prepare, and it's a certified 10 out of 10 for the daily hustle. Go 'head and grab a bag—once you see how it rounds out the dinner plate, you already know it's a staple for a reason!
I recently began liking rice, because my dogs love it. I cook for them and myself, such as chicken snd rice and beef and rice. This is a special occasional meal, once a week, okay maybe twice. Ojay forget it, whise counting anyway. This brand does great for my wallet and in terms of taste. Its fluffy not sticky. Mom tested, Furbabies approved
I stopped buying this when I discovered the par-boiled rice. This used to be my go-to for rice cooker meals, but I find that it's super dusty. I know you're supposed to rinse your rice before you cook it, but that's super inconvenient for me. I prefer to do things the fast and easy way, so par-boiled is the style for me. I also found that this rice would sometimes remain hard even after the rice cooker has gone off. I never have that issue now, with my new rice. If you're a rice cooking professional, this might be the rice for you. When cooked correctly, it has good taste and texture. It just isn't for me, as I'm not a professional and cooking is hardly even a hobby for me. I'm just a mom with multiple kids to feed, looking for what will give me the easiest break, and this isn't it.
This rice was a good value for money, just be aware that there are pieces in it that are hard, black, some are inedible, etc. I think its just a part of the grain that didn't get caught when it was being processed. It's fine, I'm still going to buy it because it's a great value and the rice is still edible, but just be aware when you go to cook it there may be brown or black bits in the rice.
1/2 the bags had tears in the seams and leaked. all over. I did not realize it until I was putting them away at the food pantry and could not use them.
The Rice came as always in its plastic bag. The issue I have is with the little Black bugs crawling around inside the bag of rice. 🤨🤨🤨🤔🤔🤔
