I used to use Uncle Ben's rice and then the pandemic hit and I couldn't get it anymore. I tried this rice and liked it. My only suggestion is that I do soak this rice in water for about 5 minutes before cooking. It removed a lot of starch and cooks faster that way. I never went back to Uncle Ben's and have continue using this brand.
I'm not going to lie to you guys. I was working on my purchase and save for later, and all of sudden the Walmart web went blank. I didn't know if it crashed are what happened. So I said to myself I guess I'm not going to get any groceries. Later on that day there where grocery bags in my yard. I went to look, and it was food. That was weirdest thing I ever saw in my life. If I bought these groceries then tell me how, because the website cut off I didn't know what to do because nobody want talk to me at Walmarts. And also my Internet is working. So if I owed you guys, let me know. Have a blessed day.
I don't eat white rice any more but I use it in little decorative jars put some in and put drops of essential oil on top of the rice and set it around then when the fragrance dies down just add some oils time saver and money.
I routinely purchase "name brand" food products but decided to try your store brand and was really impressed with the product. The rice cooked up well and wasn't sticky and I'll buy it the next time I need rice. A great product.
I love this rice. It's clean, it cooks perfectly every time, and it tastes fantastic. I use this rice for a stir fry base and for breakfast sweet rice and I am never disappointed. It's always dependable, the flavor is always right with no weird surprises like some of the cheaper brands, and this rice always tastes good. I don't rinse it because there's no yucky debris. I highly recommend this rice.
I highly recommend this Great Value Long Grain Rice. Low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. Heart-healthy and gluten-free, kosher certified, no artificial flavors or colors. Rich in vitamin B1, ferric phosphate, folic acid and niacin. Can be prein a rice cooker or on a stove top!
This rice is an excellent quality pantry staple that I incorporate into my meal routine with careful preparation. Since white rice doesn't always fit well with a diet similar to mine, I make sure to eat this in the right proportions to manage my needs. It has a wonderful texture that stays fresh and delicious, making it a gentle and reliable base for many different dishes.
This rice is as good as any name brand rice for a lot less of your money. I purchased the 10 pack and got a great deal on them. I cannot tell any difference from this rice than the name brands I have tried. I do recommend it and save some money for other things you may want. I have to hand it to Walmart their shipping has greatly improved. It did take a couple of days to get the rice, but I was in no hurry. I received other items the next day and was very happy with Walmart. Someone is doing a great job getting things shipped out in a timely manner. Try this rice I am sure you will like it.
I'm going to be truthful here and admit that I bought this by mistake. It was good and served its purpose. We used a rice cooker to cook it. For me(known as the "lazy" cooker), I prefer buying the already cooked, heat up in microwave rice packages, or the premasured rice packets you drop in boiling water.
This rice is extremely horrible, the grains have 2 different color and the extra white grains will not cook properly so the rice seems uncooked even though some grams are cooked, others are not, I will stick to jasmine and basmati, buying this was a horrible mistake.
