The Great Value pasta is actually priced reasonably and of good quality. I don't normally purchase Great Value products, but you genuinely save a decent amount for almost the exact same quality pasta--I've never noticed a difference between this and name brand.
Barilla had been my favorite brand for decades. I thought I would try Great Value after prices kept inching up incrementally to the point where they nearly doubled. I can't tell the difference between Barilla and Great value. Same chewy al dente texture, and same mild flavor that pairs perfectly with sauce. I have permanently switched to Great Value for all my pasta needs.
I had truly enjoyed the salad mix. This is an excellent product. It's good for people that are on a tight budget. It cooks up really fast and the kids seemed to love it. I put all sorts of stuff with these peon needing noodles. I can make them in Thai I can make them into comfort noodles some of the kids like just butter and garlic garlic on them. It's all depends on the child. Enjoy.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good this is. As long as you don't overcook it, it's as good as Barilla. It's not home made or fresh, but it works in most dishes. Penne is great for light or heavier sauces. it's my favorite pasta to pair with asparagus or garden green beans.
This Great Value brand Penne Pasta is every bit as good as the more expensive ones and for a much more reasonable price. I always buy this brand of pasta noodles for all of my pasta dishes and the consistency in flavor, texture, quality, size, etc. are always spot on. They are easy to work with and are a very affordable option for someone who doesn't want to pay more simply for the brand. These will get the job done.
For the low and affordable price (Thank you, Walmart), this pasta goes a long way and tastes just as good as the expensive brands. Plus, with the right sauce, you can not go wrong. P.S. Barilla makes a precooked pasta you can microwave, and it's easy, affordable, and very tasty!
I've purchased several varieties of this pasta, and every one has been a great addition to our pantry. The quality is consistently good, the texture cooks up perfectly, and it holds sauce well whether I'm making simple weeknight dinners or larger family meals. From spaghetti and penne to rotini and elbow pasta, we've been happy with every type we've tried. One of the biggest reasons I'm giving this pasta 5 stars is the value. It's affordable without sacrificing taste or quality, making it easy to keep multiple varieties stocked at all times. It cooks evenly, doesn't become mushy when prepared according to the package directions, and provides a reliable base for countless recipes. For families looking for a budget-friendly pantry staple, this pasta is hard to beat. It's versatile, dependable, and consistently delivers great results. We'll definitely continue buying it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for good-quality pasta at a great price.
With the price of groceries we might all end up living in noodles because they are still affordable! I make several recipes using these penne pasta noodles, but when I need something quick, cheap, easy and filling I boil up these noodles, drain and add butter, salt and pepper. If I'm trying to make a fast meal I boil them, drain, add jar pesto sauce, or pasta sauce thrown some frozen garlic bread in the oven, throw together salad from a bag and that's a great quick dinner. You can steam a bag of veggies as well or make corn on the cob the kids will love it and it's fast!
The pasta was just fine and it worked well in my recipe. However, I'm more than disappointed that the price of all Great Value pasta has gone up and you weren't even subtle about the increase. 20%? Did you think people wouldn't notice? I shop Walmart every week, so it's easy for me to see the price difference on the pasta and many other items. Walmart was a convenience for me but I think it's time to start shopping the sales of other local supermarkets.
This is my go to brand and noodle type... Like IN LOVE, however, I was making dinner for the kids today, I ripped open the box and poured the noodles right into the hot water... and without a second thought I threw away the box. My 9 year old daughter looked at me SHOCKED. She said "Mommy, is that sanitary?" ... and I was like "What Kueen?" ... I was confused... She then responded "the noodles was not packaged , and then placed in the box" ... and she really looked concerned about that... Now my grandmother said you can boil away ANYTHING lol , so that's what my faith is in ... And honestly I don't think she is willing to rely on that same faith right now kmsl... I LOVEEEE THIS NOODLES... but for the sake of raising an inquisitive kid, I'm in trouble, I have to find noodles that's packaged before packaging apparently.
