This sauce is just right ; I usually add very little seasoning to it ; pretty much my fresh vegetables are what's needed . The texture and taste are on point . You can use this , straight out of the jar if desired . I love it and buy on a regular basis . I don't just use for spaghetti dishes but other recipes as well ; meatball subs , meatloaf , pizza bread and more . Nice and chunky!!
I buy these as my go to sauce, they're a great flavor base for a quick meal, or if you feel like doctoring up to make everyone wonder what your secret is for your sauce. it's my go to. the glass jar is great to reuse to make yogurt (warm your milk and throw an 1/8 of a cup, which is 2 tablespoons, of your go to yogurt, keep at about 100° for a few hours).
I always keep these ingredients in my pantry because they're my little secret to creating delicious dishes like flavorful vegetable and meat stews, chicken fried rice, comforting spaghetti and macaroni, tasty lasagna with eggplant and spinach, and homemade pizza breads with ground turkey or beef ❤️. They are economical yet high-quality, matching the standards of top brands. That's great flavor, great value ❤️
Low in Sugar, No Acid Aftertaste, and a Great Value = A winner. My family's favorite pasta sauce. What to do with that little bit of left over sauce? I put a thin layer on flat bread, add cheese, and whatever other bits of left over roast, or chicken with some sliced onions. Add leftover veggies from the fridge, such as, corn, spinach, mushrooms, just be creative.
I have only ever tried the basil garlic pasta sauce because when you find perfection you don't challenge it I use this sauce for pasta as pizza sauce, in my minestrone soup and over zucchini noodles with some mozzarella stirred in. It goes so well with the kirkland meatballs that I use in spaghetti and zucchini noodles and for meatball sandwiches! I drown 5 meatballs sliced in half in this sauce, and put it on a kirkland roll with provolone slices. It is the best most versatile sauce I have in my pantry and the best of the budget sauces and probably better than the expensive sauces. It is just so good
My family loves the flavor but the texture is not the same from purchase to purchase. Sometimes it is chunky while other times it's smooth. We overall prefer it to be smoother than huge chunks of tomato. But we can use a food processor if the chunks are too large. It isn't too salty for us but it might be to othera.
I buy this sauce and then add my own spices. Sometimes I ad a can of crushed tomatoes. Other times I ad a can of pizza sauce. If you cook Italian Sweet or Hot sausage to the sauce you can flavor the entire pot. This is a good buy if you want to spice up yourself.
And my family we use the sauce for everything. to dip, mozzarella sticks in, to top pasta with, to make pizzas with in pretty much anything else you can do with the tomato based sauce. The texture is not too chunky and it's useful and easy for weeknight meals.
Nothing wrong with this at all, I keeping buying it. I use it as a base for a lighter sauce, adding diced tomato. The basil flavor comes through without that harsh sweet basil taste that you get from the dried stuff but it's easily dismissed if you don't like that, since it's very lightly seasoned, again by adding some other stuff like diced tomato.
A jar of pasta sauce is one of those pantry staples you'll always find in my kitchen. When you're tired, you can whip up a spaghetti dinner in 20 minutes with this. Add a salad and warm bread, and dinner is done. You can also use it in recipes like lasagna, baked ziti, and eggplant parmesan. Walmart's branded items are good quality IMO.
