I'm using these for my sweet potato casserole topping and I'm so glad I bought the pieces so I won't have to chop up whole pecans. Also they are going to be good for making homemade pecan sandies. They are a great price!
Love that they're pre-chopped to the perfect size for baking! Used these to make snowballs over the holidays and they were delicious and so simple to make without the extra effort of chopping.
Nut pieces are much smaller than displayed in picture. More of a crumble than pieces. Could still be used in cookies, but not the best option for the pecan pie I wanted to make with it.
These are labeled as chopped cookie pieces but they are minced nuts, only a little bigger than a grain of rice. They would be good if you're making a nut crust for a cheese cake or something like that but too finely chopped for my cookies.
First and foremost, let me say that I LOVE Great Value products in general. I buy most of them consistently without issue, especially their nut products. Usually you cannot get better quality nuts for this price anywhere. These however, are HORRIBLE. They are a great idea in theory since they are already finely diced/chopped for your baking needs, but in execution, they fail miserably. I believe the producer must take all the broken bits of the regular pecans, bag them, and sell them for this purpose. The end product tastes burned likely because they are over cooked to death while waiting to be collected in the process of making whole, half, and pieces of pecans. Any of those other types of Great Value pecans are 5/5. Just buy those and smash them with a rolling pin in a ziploc if you need tiny pecan pieces instead of these. I threw out a whole bag because these were so bad.
The description is baking pieces. The picture shows decent sized pueces of nut, but what's in the bag is near enough to dust it's ridiculous. The "pieces" are crumbles. Not impressed with the quality at all!
The description says pecan pieces, the name says pecan pieces, the picture shows pecan pieces… what I received is pecan dust. I bought 3 bags and they're unusable.
Low scoring not because of the product but because pick up did NOT include them in my order. I called and was told I would received a credit. Guess what! I didn't.
I did not order the product sent to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 I ordered pecan pieces not pulverized pecans called cookie pieces pecans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should get a full refund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
These are not pieces. They're crumbs. Perhaps, what was emptied from the conveyor belt.. not sure what their purpose would be in baking or cooking.
