Greenworks 80V 16" Cordless String Trimmer with 2.0 Ah Battery & Charger 2100102VT

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Powerful and light. Very decent trimmer. Feels well built, spins up faster than any gas unit I've ever run. Good run time for my yard. Trim all my fences and sidewalks and only use 2 bars in the battery. Very happy!

This thing is a BEAST! It has tackled everything I have put in it's path. I have a big yard with lots of thick weeds, and this weedeater has held its ground. I would expect this machine to trim four or five "regular" lots between charges. I live out in a rural area, so it's hard to tell how much trimming I do. It is fairly heavy, probably as heavy as a gas trimmer. It charges as quickly as it advertises. I've never had to wait for the battery to charge before finishing my yard. Bottom line: I have never been so satisfied with a battery-powered machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace an old gas powered Shindaiwa trimmer. This was lighter and it worked great. The only issue is the I won't be able to use the many steel attachments I had bought through the years for the gas powered trimmer.

Works out of the box. Arrived with about a 50% charge so usable right away. Only needed to be topped up to get a full charge.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Had an opportunity to use the 80 V Pro 16 inch brushless front mount string trimmer from a neighbour, and thought I should own one :)

This is the first battery powered trimmer we've had. My husband was skeptical but turns out he really likes it. I've heard him tell several people about it and how powerful it is. He does wish the guard was larger.

The combo pack is great value and was an easy way to get into the 80 volt system. I find the blower to be faultless and powerful, while the trimmer is powerful it is utterly frustrating. The string advance mechanism on the trimmer is finicky and prone to sticking. Dirt gets into it and the advance button wedges into the head and no string advances. To reset the mechanism, I have to take the string spool apart and unwedge the button. This happens roughly every fifth string advance. I am finding it to be a major annoyance. I really wish this was designed better. Maybe the model that accepts attachments is of a better design. Unfortunately for me I think this trimmer is built to last and I will be waiting and enduring frustration for a long time before I have to replace it. Which btw I see no way to replace the cutting mechanism. So this is not the most versatile or repairable model. Greenworks, is there a fix or so you have advice regarding this?
