GrillTex Under-the-Grill Protective Patio & Deck Mat, 39" x 72"

I realize that this was intended to be put under a grill, and it is shaped well for that purpose. However, I recently bought a small fire pit, and I noticed that my patio was darker underneath it. So, I'm using this mat under it, and so far, the mat is doing a great job of protecting the surface of my patio. So, if it works under a fire pit, it should be great under a grill. It will protect against stray embers, and should clean up easily from any spills of drippings or bbq sauce. Better to clean the mat than deal with stains on your deck or patio!

I received my GrillTex protective mat from the Spark Reviewer program. This 39 x 72 size mat works as a great protector for our deck. As you can see in my picture it more than covers the length of our grill. It's the perfect size, not too big and definitely not too small. It seems to be quite durable, on the heavy size, which is good. It's very flexible too. When you don't need to use it this mat will easily roll up when you need to store it. It can also be used elsewhere, not just for your grill! Having a protective grill/patio mat is a great idea and we would recommend this GrillTex Under-the-Grill Patio mat to anyone. This Grill Tex Under The Grill Protective Patio and Deck Mat is awesome. It is large enough to cover the grill area, with a little room to spare. It was easy to position, and I had no problem rolling my grill onto the mat and maneuvering it into place. I would definitely recommend this item.

I have had this Protective Patio and Deck grill mat for a few days now. It is a perfect fit for under my five burner grill. If it were just a little longer, I could actually get it under my smoker as well. This is one nice item for protecting my deck from drops, spills and splatters. I don't have a top over my deck so I will periodically remove the mat to allow the deck to dry and air out due to moisture build up. This mat seems to be very sturdy and light weight for its size. I have owned mats of this nature in the past, but none seem to have been as sturdy as this one seems to be. If you are looking for the protection that an under the grill mat can and will give you, then this is the one I highly recommend for that purpose. One thing that would or might make it some better is if it were clear. That way, sunlight would get through it and one could see what was underneath such as mildew and etc. and know when to clean and dry out. Other than that this is one great mat. I will be purchasing another for underneath my smoker.

This mat is large enough to cover the grill space of a large grill. I used dish soap and a hose to get the grease off that dripped and it was very easy cleaning. Has maintained its shape and flatness despite weather conditions. Over amazing product that is easy to clean and saves my patio pavers from grease and mess.

Wonder,just wonderful. So I'm surely believe that the grill is thanking all of us for Cushing The wheel's and leg's¡ But if I am to , honestly what I do may not be the right thing to do, so here it go,what I do with the cush I roll grill off of the Cushing and I stand on it while I am coo. Omgoodness lol maybe that's what it's for¡ Oh well. Thanking you again Walmart Spark's. So most of the time I cook with the matt under the grill. Thanks

I agree with everything listed in the description of this Under-the-Grill Protective Mat. It arrived in the mail rolled up tightly in a cardboard box. When I cut open the box, I was able to easily unroll the mat and it laid perfectly flat on my wooden deck. As you can see in the picture, there is a slight curvy lip around the edges. My other picture shows both the top side and bottom side of the mat as well as the thickness. The thickness I would describe as not too thick not too thin - just right. When I walk on the mat it seems a little spongy and it is not rough on my bare feet. I gave the durability ranking a five not because I have had it a long time and it has held up but because it just seems pretty sturdy to me. It has some weight to it.

I've had other under the grill mats but I really like this one. It's more like rubber so easier to clean if spills do occur. Fits nicely under my 4 burner gas grill. A definite good add to your grilling area to protect your patio surface whether it be cement, brick etc.

GrillTex Under-the-Grill Protective Patio & Deck Mat, 39 x 72 Black rubber material. Made to catch grease, spills, and to protect patio and deck surfaces. It's water, grease, and oil resistant. The mat is very thin. Only about 1/16th of an inch thick but the material seems to be of good quality. It comes rolled up and doesn't take long to flatten after laying it out. The top side has a pebbled texture and the bottom has raised nubs that grasp whatever surface it's on. I have a cement slab patio so I can't say how it would perform on a wood, resin, or composite deck or if it could possibly discolor it. Since the mat is thin it was easy to roll my grill onto it. I have a large grill (62 inches wide), and this mat is large enough to cover the surface under each side table and cover plenty of room in the front of the grill. I've been using mine for a week now and have cooked out on my grill twice so far. We did get some mud on the front of the mat because we had some drizzle the first day we used it. I just gave it a quick rinse with the hose. Once it dried completely it still looked dirty but it can be cleaned more thoroughly using a scrub brush. They claim it can handle heat up to 500 degrees. There's no way my grill is ever going to reach that temperature near the lower portion of the legs and the wheels where the mat lays so I can't confirm that claim. The pros; It's made of quality material, it's easy to lay flat, easy to roll your grill onto, easy to rinse off, covers plenty of area under and around my grill, and it does the job it was designed to do. The cons; I haven't found any yet.

According to GrillTex their mats are deeper than most competitive mats. My husband likes the fact that it has a unique front lip to provide extra protection against drips and spills in front of the main grilling surface (that feature is specifically for me) , the area most prone to drips and spills where food is loaded and removed from the grill. My husband likes the fact that the mat is very durable and heavy duty, yet roll easily for handling and storage (it will last a long time). GrillTex Grill Mats have a 1-year limited warranty against failure due to manufacturing defects. It's very easy to clean (which is another point my husband likes) by rinsing off with a garden hose or soap and water, however he was extremely disappointed about the mat being so thin. Although it has the measurements on the package, he was disappointed that it was so small (I think they come larger sizes). We would recommend this product only because the price is right, it does everything they say it would do and it is easy to store and clean but it's much too thin.
