Happy little sprouts !!

Pat G June 28, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy how the sports were up in one week, looking great. Mine is a patchwork quilt where i used weed killer that killed the grass also. I bit more work to cut and patch, but well worth the effort. !

Great product, just not my luck.

Welyton June 29, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I prepared the ground and laid down growtrax just like I have done before in other areas of my lawn but we had a really bad storm 3 days later and it washed it all away. Unfurtunately i lost that roll of grass. But from my other areas in the yard i can confirm this product is great if mother nature doesnt take it all away lol

Pretty amazed at how quickly we have sprouts!

R Crosier June 10, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pretty amazed at how quickly we have sprouted grass! I've taken some photos, but don't think the reviews allow photos to be posted with them. We decided not to put up our 15 foot pool this year, due to increased cost of water, so we cleared off most of the sand, put down about 1/2" to 1" of topsoil, then rolled out a 200 sq ft roll of NU-Lawn and I'm shocked how quickly it's growing!

Great alternative for growing grass

Kaitlin June 21, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A new sizable space in the backyard needed grass. Our backyard is small, fenced, and partially shaded. We also have dogs and kids using this space daily. We needed the easiest and fastest process for new grass. It needed to endure sun, shade, traffic and mixed terrain (top soil/sand). GrowTrax has been a great alternative to loose seed, straw cover, or sod. Laying out the roll is easy and painless. HOWEVER we learned the hard way not to lay out fresh GrowTrax if any measurable wind is in the forecast. Even after lots of watering it does not anchor down for about a week. Don't let wind ruin the product.

Great product

Louis July 11, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed my grass 3 1/2 weeks ago and It's already about 1” tall. We did an area that is 11 x 40. The area we did had new dirt 8 inches deep and a brand new sprinkler system. I live in Springfield Oregon and our temperature has been in the high 70's to high 80's and humid. We have been watering the ground more often than recommended because of the weather. I am very very pleased with my purchase and definitely be buying more next spring when we figure out our backyard.

Works Best on Bare Soil; Scalp Means Strip

John M June 23, 2026

Great results! I rolled out 600 square feet over a combination bare soil and short-cut dry grass. Here's what I learned. Proper watering is imperative; I followed watering recommendations to a tee and got great results (adjust watering according to your environment needs -- Google it). On bare soil, everything works as expected. When laying atop "scalped" grass, however, be aware that after a couple of weeks the watering schedule and built-in fertilizer will encourage the grass underneath to grow faster than the sprouts (especially with Bermuda). So, scalping the landscape means, essentially stripping it. Where old grass starts growing, this produces "tenting" where parts of the partially disintegrating roll will lose contact with the soil. I brought out a hose and sprayed the tents as directly on top as I could to get them to break up and lay flat. I also found that splashing muddy water on top (not watery mud) worked well to weigh down the tents. Scalping is essential, because it will take a lot longer to wait for the roll to disintegrate on top of anything higher than half an inch. Went from brown (before install) to bright green in 3 weeks!

Ok but......

Just dirt June 15, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Didn't have much trouble placing the mat but when it gets wet it's like wet toilet paper and even a moderate wind will wreak havoc with it. Good concept but probably best for small or protected areas.

Not good for windy areas

Marisol July 8, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Half of it managed to stick on the ground with constant watering but half my lawn keeps flying away in peices. I keep finding the material and laying it back down and soaking it but im losing the fight with the wind.

Grass not germinating yet

JZ June 23, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put some seed regular grass seed down AND rolled the Growtrax over the bare areas about a week ago and have watered as recommended...not a sprout yet! Disappointed but will see what another week brings.

Not worth it. Does not work.

Meg June 27, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have followed the instructions meticulously. Laid out correctly, watering correctly at the right times of day. Some sprouts have grown but the material itself does NOT dissolve. The material just stays clumped up and you have to pick it off piece by piece to uncover the sprouts so they dont end up being covered and die themselves. Not worth it or the time and effort.
