I really like this bug repellent. My 9 year old son has been using it and it seems to work very well. We live in the county where there are a lot of mosquitoes and bugs. It's a constant fight. I like that it is natural and not full of chemicals. It sprays on great and seems to last a while. I would recommend this spray.
Love this brand, trust that there are not chemicals to irritate my grand babies. This sprays on, so no rubbing all over and not being sure if you got it right. It soaks in enough that every bit of sand the kids encounter doesn't stick to them like glue, and they don't complain that they feel sticky. The spray mist goes onto their clothing and skin so there is a better protective barrier. We have animals and spend a lot of time in the barn, and this protects the little ones from the flies and mosquitoes that hang out in those darker collier corners. This is just a good product that does what it says it will without hurting the kids.
I like using bug repellant in spray form so that i can spray my kids clothing instead of actually spraying the repellant directly onto their skin. I feel the spray stays on the clothes longer than on the skin and therefore works better and is more effective.
The Hello Bello Mosquito Repellent is PERFECT for summer days and evenings outside! Even though it's a bug spray and it's essential oils, it doesn't have the strong “buy spray” smell associated with it. There is citronella in it, and that usually causes me some level of headache, but not with this… it's there but not overpowering, the peppermint is light and they balance each other out.
Sprays on white but rubs in very well. Does not leave an oily or greasy residue on the skin. I have semi sensitive skin and this did not irritate my skin at all. The citronella scent is pretty strong so if your sensitive to smells or do not like the citronella smell this isn't for you. It did not bother me. Not able to rate this on effectiveness because it's still early in Texas to have bugs biting us outside. But I would be surprised if any mosquito comes near me with the strong citronella oil in this.
This mosquito repellant is safe to use on young children and adults. It is made of natural oils and smells really good on your skin- to me it smells of lemongrass which is one of the ingredients. It comes in a nice size easy to spray on canister. Twist the cap to unlock and spray it on. Just a little goes a long way. It comes out thick like a lotion and then you can rub it around. It is not sticky and drys fairly quickly an your skin. The scent will repell the mosquitos.
I've been looking for a mosquito repellent for kids that actually works. I've heard good thing from this brand. I love that it's not greasy looking or greasy feeling. There is a weird citronella like smell when you spray it but it does mostly go away after it's rubbed in leaving only a faint smell. It contains the following essential oils: citronella, cedarwood, peppermint and lemongrass. It seems to hold up to mosquitoes. I love natural products and try to incorporate them onto my life replacing bad products.
This would have been a 5 star if the product had not failed me. I did follow instructions and shook it well before application. I got maybe two uses out of it before some thick, off-white substance started pouring from the cap. It didn't smell right, and it was the texture of bird poop. I'm assuming it's from product settling, but I couldn't shake it back to the original clear spray. However, the formula was fantastic and I wasn't bitten. It's a real shame.
Please have your child test on a small area first. My 9 yo used this and had to go take a cold shower to wash it off immediately as she said it was burning her! So, please test it first.
I was so excited to try out the Hello Bello Kid Bug Spray because we have a major mosquito issue as we live on the coast next to a large section of protected wetlands. We are always looking for a better smelling bug spray and one that is safe for the little's sensitive skin. I was happy to see that this bug spray was made with essential oils and it came in a continuous spray. Well, that is about the only good part of this review. Immediately, I was shocked when it sprayed on solid white. WHITE. It looked exactly like spraying on old-school sunscreen. I also noticed right away that I didn't smell any essential oil. ALL I could smell was an overpowering smell of citronella. Who wants to smell like citronella? I sure don't. Now the worst part of it all, you have to use your hands to rub it in to your skin. Then, you have citronella all over your hands. It actually burned me where I had a small scratch on my leg. Then I accidentally touched my face before I had a chance to wash my hands and it burned my face. I can't imagine if a small child touched their eyes accidentally how bad it would hurt. If we were outside at a park or at the beach, I would not have access to a sink to wash my hands. I can't imagine putting this on small children in any circumstance. I would not recommend this product for anyone of any age.
