Hercules 8" High Profile Foundation Mattress Box Spring Replacement, Twin

I was surprised to receive the box spring with all the complete parts, after only about three days shipping time all the way from Baltimore to the west coast. It only took about half an hour to assemble and everything fit perfectly. The instructions are sparse, but it's quite a self-explanatory process. Long boards are the sides, short boards are head- and foot-boards, bolts go in the holes, slats sit on top, screws go in the pre-drilled holes. I would be amazed if someone could mess it up. I expected half the parts to be missing, but no, all there! I think I'm most pleased because shipping only cost $3. I'm sure that's a mistake of oversight because the package was extremely heavy and should have normally cost around $50. There was simply no other choice that competed with this item in cost. So far I haven't fallen through to the floor yet, seems appropriately sturdy. Well done Walmart; you somehow beat Ikea, Amazon, and Craigslist on this item for me.

When looking for a new mattress I knew I needed the box springs too. Then I ran across this mattress support. I love the idea that I can dissassemble it for easy moving or storage. And I love the idea that I can wash the cover. You can't do either with a traditional box springs. I was able to move this into my room by myself and assemble it by myself. It is very practical and the price is awesome. I think this will outlast a more traditional boxsprings and certainly be healthier for dust mites and back support. I put this on my antique iron bed and needed to chisel out a little wood for it to sit in the frame properly (they don't make modern frames the same way as this antique one). I never could get traditional box springs to sit the way it was intended. So this is a big plus. If you have a regular frame you shouldn't have to modify at all. I ordered a 6 inch memory foam mattress to use on the mattress supposrt and have been extremely pleased. I would recommend this to anyone. Super happy!!!

My husband and I bought this box spring for our Sealy King sized mattress. We looked into a more traditional box spring and found out that it would be upwards of $225! With this coming in under $150 we were more than happy to give it a try. Please understand that it comes UNASSEMBLED! However, the assembly isn't too bad at all. It took me about an hour to do by myself - which is longer than most people reported BUT I am 7 months pregnant and I took plenty of breaks. We've been sleeping on it for a week now and after the first 10 minutes we haven't heard any wood creaking or any noise at all like others have reported. In fact its been perfect!! It is VERY secure and looks nice with the cover on. We also appreciate the fact that it can be taken apart for the next time we move! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable solution to a traditional box spring!

Great value. Solid 1"x 4" wood, joined by staples, but item is put together with long metal bolts, wing nuts w/washers. Very quick set up. Sides are notched for slats, wood screws included for firm stability. Just be sure to have the center rail (if above a twin) inserted correctly so the slats lie flat. Very solid. Cover is a slip on which tightens with a draw string. Easy to remove and clean when needed. Far exceeded all expectations.

I moved to a house that has a stair way my original queen boxspring would not fit through. I had heard about these instant-box springs and was intrigued. Assembly was fairly painless. I liken it to building simple IKEA furniture. After about 30 minutes of work I had a solid support for my mattress similar in nature to a platform bed, but with the visuals of a traditional mattress/boxspring combo. Very impressive!

Since I can't get anything larger than a twin box spring into the upstairs of my farmhouse, I started looking into split queen box springs when I happened upon this. Yes, it's made with pine, but it's been sturdy so far after everything is tightened. I can see where people would have trouble getting the last piece or two attached. I simply treated it like any other RTA box furniture- you don't fully tighten everything until all parts are in place. The biggest issue I had was that I didn't properly center the slats that connect the sides and was unable to put a screw into the end of one slat. Overall, not a bad product, and I like the option i have to take it back apart if I would need to remove it from the upstairs of my house.

My husband and I looked for king box springs locally and they were going to cost us $250. We found this online and figured we'd give it a try. We put it together in less than an hour (about 45-50 minutes to get the mattress on top and the bedroom cleaned up). The instructions aren't detailed, but there are pictures and logic kind of dictates where everything is supposed to go. Holes are all pre-drilled, slats fit into grooves in the wood. The boards weren't finished (not sanded) but were otherwise in good condition. One slat had two knots in it, but that's not a big deal. Plus, they supply a cover so once everything is put together the fact that the wood isn't sanded doesn't matter. We've used it for two nights now, and have no complaints. It doesn't squeak (we tightened everything we could two or three times to make sure) and is just what we expected.

which considering we are talking about a mattress foundation, is not much. Like others, I liked the price, quick delivery from Walmart (suggest you have it shipped unless you own a truck or pretty big SUV/van)), and that it comes disassembled (so now worry getting a queen-sized object through hallways and bedroom door). Easy to assemble and sturdy at the finish. Some question that the wood is cheap grade, but I think that is standard for a boxspring or foundation. Good, snug cover. Read the dimensions of this and similar offerings to make sure what fits your bed--they are not all the same.

This foundation looks nice and is very simple to assemble but every time I get into bed I hear cracking noises. My husband lightly plopped onto our bed (which is a memory foam mattress) and it sounded like part of the foundation broke and he's not even an overweight person. We looked at it and it was ok. It does the job but I wouldn't recommend this to someone who is looking for a quality foundation.

The first thing I noticed was the wood was in miserable condition. Some boards even had random nails sticking out of them. My other problem was the construction of the side boards. Whoever made the sideboards nailed one piece on backwards so that I had to drill my own holes in it to make it work. This took a solid hour of confusion to figure out why it wouldn't go together correctly. Drilling my own holes made the construction process much more difficult than necessary. Once it was all together though it was a pretty good box spring for the price. I'm just worried that the boards holding it together are going to break at any time. I would NOT recommend this to anyone, you might as well go by an already put together box spring...
