Some liquids are just too hot for plastic basters, not to mention the taste hot plastic creates in food. The printed gauge lets you see how much liquid you are removing and the large bulb lets you draw up a sizeable amount at a time. Being made of clear glass lets me easily see that I am removing the liquid fat without actually removing any broth. I'm very pleased with this style.
Easy to read if that matters and very easy to clean.
Finally - a baster that can be used to remove unwanted grease while cooking ground beef, etc. and the tip doesn't melt! It's much easier to see if it's been cleaned properly, too.
Works great for removing old power steering fluid.
Been Lookin for a Glass Baster at a fair price for a while now
Very nice, and the anti-roll design is definitely a nice touch.
Handy, convenient, cane same time as roaster! Was a wedding gift!
I like how well it does under heat and how easy it is to clean
will never buy a different baster - the other one I bought frm WalMart MELTED! it says avoid hot liquids...how are you supposed to baste a turkey, or get the fat out of ground beef?? This one could have some kind of a stop, so the glass doesn't go all the way to the end of the silicone, but otherwise, it's great
Worst Master ever! Used this the first time on Thanksgiving and the heat from the turkey drippings cracked the hard, clear plastic syringe in three places only an hour into the cooking time and, of course, would no longer hold the suction. I had to resort to basting my bird with a spoon. Go for one that has the old style, softer plastic that's not glassy-clear. If you do get this one, try it out before the holidays, and save your receipt. You'll need it.
