I installed this thermostat a few weeks ago and form the moment I installed it, I was impressed with it. It has nice clean screen. You can see. The temperature that you have selected you can also see the temperature that is current and you can see the outside temperature which is nice. I love how clearly and easy to read display is, but most importantly, I love that it does exactly what I wanted to do. My old thermostat had a mind of its own. It was digital, and I will set it a different settings and for some reason, it would always do what it wanted. It seemed that way. the Honeywell thermostat performs exactly as it is programmed to do and it does it elegantly.
Universal Application - works with conventional and heat pump systems up to 2 Program is retained in memory in the event of a power outage Separate programming for each day of the week - 4 periods per day. Love it that I can change temperatures and make it comfortable from my phone, after being away from the house for the day. My in home temp is perfect when I arrive.
When I bought my current house, it had a Nest Pro. After I downloaded the App I found it not user friendly. Also, there was a 2 degree delay in starting my heat pump and 2 degree to turn my unit off. It meant we were hot or cold before and after the unit turned on. I decided to "ditch" that thermostat and after carefully research and reviews, Selected the Honeywell Smart thermostat. The display is easy to read, easy to program and the power to my unit is only a half degree to respond and not 2 degrees! The layout of the thermostat has the familiar less expensive Honeywell which worked for 42 years in my old home. I am extremely satisfied with this Thermostat! The one draw back is there is no remote room sensors you can add unless it is hardwired 😏
After approximately 5-6 weeks of use, they have been operating as advertised. I purchased 2 to replace 2 thermostats that had same features and capabilities but were no longer supported by manufacturer, rendering them useless other than a manual operating mode.
It's pretty good. Athough you can set a schedule, wish it had the option to set a low and high temps that it would never go over or under. Also, sometimes it says it's one temp when it is actually slightly higher or lower and doesn't adjust until you change the mode to cool off or warm it up in the home.
I recently replaced my 13 year old Lenox thermostat with a new Honeywell 9000. I had to change some wiring since the Lenox thermostat was a "communicating" thermostat. It works well now. My only disappointment is that the TCC app on my phone cannot cancel or modify the vacation schedule. My Lenox could. I miss that capability.
The thermostat works exactly as described with one huge material flaw. This does not work with the Google home ecosystem. Period. The box is misleading. (Yes the marketing department lied) There's literally no app for north America that works with the Google home ecosystem. Not sure about Alexa,
It’s too cumbersome and incomplete. The Sensi is much more advanced and simpler. To change the temperature I have to confirm it — confirm what? Just change it directly. I also can’t set it to “Auto” mode (heating and cooling) like the Sensi; I can only do it through scheduling. On top of that, it’s complicated and less intuitive. Not a good product.
Your app does not show when auxiliary heat is running and can only be seen on thermostat itself. It also always runs on auxiliary heat and the home edition thermostat does not provide proper set points for auxiliary heat. I should have bought the commercial pro 8000 that I normally install. This cost a lot to run since auxiliary heat always runs while heating. Even if adjusting on 1 degree.
Not communicating with unit properly. Thermostat is not kicking on at set temp. New install it wasn't communicating with unit properly. 3 weeks later it's 78 in house and thermostat set on 72. Mild spring weather. Had to have new manual thermostat installed.
