The entire Hormel Compleat line is great when you consider the fact that the majority of them use natural, readable ingredients, the price is around $2 a unit (I've found that Wal-Mart has the lowest price on these, always), they take 1 minute to cook and the calories are reasonable. At this price point I don't expect to have food that Gordon Ramsay would enjoy; I only expect something edible and these often surpass my low expectations. Going in with realism in mind, I think that they are exceptionally good, considering. I like to keep a few of these laying around as a convenience and they don't require refrigeration so storage is simple. I am very pleased and I wish Wal-Mart would carry their full line of entrees regularly.
I buy a lot of these little Compleats dinner. I like them because the sodium content is less than 1/2 can of soup that I was eating. I usually don't like beef dinners because they tend to be tough and hard to eat. This little dinner filled me up and I am a big eater. The chunks of beef (and there were many) were tender and in a nice brown gravy, to eat with the mashed potatoes. I especially like the fact they do not require being frozen. I will purchase this one again.
Although not like my mom used to make, it is a good tasty meal in a minute. Beats fast food and is probably better nutrition. Great to take to work and have for lunch since you don't need to keep it refrigerated.
Easy food to stash in a desk at work, take camping or just for a quick meal. Satisfying and filling. Very quick to microwave... I don't know why it is so quick, but it is. 90 seconds!
These are great tasting. The beef is tender and flavorful. The gravy is very good. The potatoes are good, a little solid but ok. Overall it is a great value for a meal I love.
I failed to completely read the preparation instructions. Therefore, the masked potatoes were a big lump. However, after mixing the potatoes with the gravy & beef tips, it turned out to be an excellent meal..
Hormel Completes whether it's beef tips with mash potatoes and gravy or Pot Roast, the chicken breast with potatoes there all excellent choices you can't go wrong. A minute or two in the microwave and dinner is served. The best thing about these dinners other than great tasting is no refrigerator needed put them on the self next to your cereal...
This shelf-stable meal is delicious when microwaved. The beef is tender, the gravy very good, and the whipped potatoes are creamy. This is a high-sodium product, as most shelf-stable products are. When I have this as part of my meal, I try not to have any other salty products.
Not even close to what it should look like and I'm not sure what I ate. The picture on the box should look like the product inside the box. Mashed potatoes clump? Beef? No comment. At least the gravy tasted ok.
taste and texture of dog food. make stew in a can seem like a 5 star meal. you don't get very much and thats a good thing.
