I prefer the dried boxed hashbrowns to any of the frozen kinds. It a great space saver for freezer that's always full. I use hot tap water to rehydrate them. When I need crispier ones I put a little less water in the carton so they're not as moist. This is so convenient and the quality is excellent

Great potatoes every time

Emily April 16, 2026

These are excellent and I prefer to use them over the frozen hash browns. Just rehydrate as directed and can then use to make hash brown casserole or potato pancakes or fried hash browns. I like to add a teaspoon of dried minced onion to them before adding the hot water. I cook them at home but they are excellent when camping.

Have been using these hash browns for years most weekends. Couple of hints: 1. add water the night before you want to cook them - only to dry hash brown level in carton. 2. start cooking hash browns before you fix the rest of your breakfast. 3. coat bottom of fry pan with oil. 4. if hash browns look a little dry after frying a few minutes I add a little hot water to pan - it really puffs them up. 5. adding a little diced onion while cooking.

Good Value and Quick %26 Easy Prep

Guy January 26, 2026

Nice item to keep in a sealed jar until needed, only need a 1/4-1/3 cup to make a serving. I can usually get about 5-6 servings per container. My hint:-heat equal parts water first to boiling, then add the tater's to that mug, cover mug and let stand for 5 minutes at least. Add Dehydrated Onions as well for more zing too. Heat a splash of olive oil to high and toss taters in, Enjoy

Before you add water: 1/2 tsp each of: garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and sea salt give it a good shake. Preheat oven to 425 I use a 12 inch saucepan mix it up nice (make sure you scoop out any clumped up seasoning from the carton) mix 2tbsp butter with 1tbsp olive oil ,let butter melt. Mix everything up nice and pat it down with a spatula try and create an even thickness across the saucepan nice and tight. let it cook on low medium for 3-4 minutes. Put entire saucepan in oven and cook uncovered for 20-25 mins until desired level of golden crispy brown on the edges and on the top. Truly amazing every single time. Better quality than anything I get anywhere else.

The directions tell you to add 1 cup of hot water %26 let it sit for a few minutes. If you love potatoes %26 onions, add a tablespoonful of dried onions with the hot water %26 potatoes. Remember, let it set for a few minutes. Once the onions %26 potatoes are puffed up. You are ready for a little oil in the skillet to fry you up some great has browns!!

Hungry Jack at My House 🏡 not 🧇,s.

Susan January 21, 2026

These are great for breakfast but even more delicious in casseroles. I use the amount of water but I'm careful not to let soak too long or they get spongy. I cook in real butter.Extremely economical.🪙

Hard on the digestion.

Elaine January 8, 2026

After preparing and eating these hash browns with a late lunch, I got a stomach ache a few hours later that took overnight to go away after futilely trying several methods to cure it, and I'm not even prone to stomach aches. I regularly cook either refrigerated or frozen hash browns in a skillet with no digestive problems whatsoever. This is the first time I've cooked hash browns from a box. They prepared easily and tasted good. They just made me sick later. I therefore cannot recommend this product even though I bought it because of all the good reviews. I threw the rest away.
