The mat could have been larger. But that is on me for not measuring twice. I am not sure about the fit etc. as we are just now opening our pool for the summer. We have an above ground pool and we have ordered a different ladder configuration. The mat should be good as it is the same quality/company we had previously.
We had our above ground pool liner replaced after 13 years. The installer suggested we get a matt to put under the drop in staircase. We never had one prior. He said it's a good idea. I've purchased several pool items from Doheny in the past. I'm very happy with the product so far. It was big enough & easy to cut to the size we needed.
protects your vinal pool from pool entry staircase that you need to fill with stones to prevent them from floating. mat stays in place as if glued to floor
it's bigger than my old one which is perfect for under my stairs!
Our old vinyl step pad was stiff and cakef an need replacing. Doheny's had exacty what we needed.
the pad worked very well. it installed easily
Love the steps! After saying that, be very clear you are using the correct written or on-line directions for YOUR EXACT model. It is amazing how different they are. Not clarifying the directions had me dis- assembling and re-assembling a couple of times. Other than that, the steps plus addition went together well. Unless your sand is totally dry it does not just pour in easy like in the video- I ended up cutting a water bottle in half, pouring spoons full of sand in and then shaking it into the sides of the steps. Also, I assume the reason not to put the tops on the upper sand containers is to allow water in and bubbles out when one “sinks” the steps but every day there is a little sand that comes out. Lastly, I have an oval pool- the same would be relevant on any round pool- the steps don't exactly fit up next to the side. We put a trex board to connect the pool deck to the first step for the little ones and that works well. However, below the water there is a gap between the back of the steps and the pool wall. My auto- cleaner has gotten stuck once between them and I worry that a child might try to swim “through the tunnel” back there and get stuck. Trying to think of a barrier but with parental supervision all should be fine. The first little one came over yesterday to try out the new steps and had a blast standing in the water and driving his cars and boats on the steps. We even put up an umbrella and stand so the steps are in the shade and there is still plenty of room for adults to walk into the pool. These steps with addition are a fantastic improvement over the ladder- especially for the little ones scared to go right into water over their heads. These allow them to play in the water and work their way up to the deep. The steps look good ( I got the blue/cream) and are solid enough to last for years! I wish they were a bit less expensive but I think they will be worth the money in the long run. Love'em!!
There is nothing wrong with this product, unless it proves to be too thin to do the job. Only time and use will tell. However, it is way too pricey, considering how thin it is and its size.
Not much to it but it does stay under the ladder
Size of Matt was not accurate.
