We purchased these steps as a replacement for the original stairs we had with our above ground pool. These steps were the second set of steps I've purchased because the first set I bought were very flimsy. As it's March and we live in northern Indiana, the steps are currently assembled and sitting in our living room. They seem very similar in weight and sturdiness to our original stairs. I'm very excited to get them in the pool. What a great product for the price!
Love it! It was exactly what we needed with our new deck. Easy to put together and doesn't take a lot of room in the pool. One of our pugs loves to sit on top step and watch us swim while he keeps his belly cool!
We have an above ground pool attached to our deck. The dogs will jump in & then stand at the side, waiting to be lifted out. After putting in the stairs, it took a little coaxing, but they can now swim over & walk out. No more worries... Putting the stairs together went quite smoothly, until the last step that requires a heavy rubber mallet to pound the rubber bases to the bottom. We didn't have one & tried EVERYTHING to get them to stay on (eventually worked by running them under HOT water to loosen the plastic. put a tiny bit of Dawn detergent around opening and banging them on with a dishcloth-covered hammer). YOU REALLY NEED THE MALLET!!! Also, we bought sandbox sand & it took FOREVER to fill the holes. Not sure if there is a pourable sand available. ENJOY!!!
Very happy with these steps, was a little nervous they would take up to much room in my 21' round pool or that they wouldn't be made poor! Neither of those things are true! They have exceeded expectations and are very nice to have over using our old ladder!
We like these pool stairs because the stairs are much more like stairs than a pool ladder. When putting the stairs into the pool for the first time you will need to submerge the stairs to completely fill with water (after you have added the sand). The directions say to tilt. It's definitely more than a tilt!
This product was a Mother's day gift, I was a little disappointed that the instructions on assembly were not in the box...my mother had to call the company and the young lady was rude and she hung the phone up in her face when she asked that the instructions be mailed immediately...the issue was resolved, but next time I will be contacted Walmart directly since you sold the product to us..
Came in a timely matter haven't put it together yet since there is still snow on the ground lol . Hopefully it is not to difficult to assemble and meets my expectations
The ladder is a great replacement. They are durable and makes it easier to get in and out of pool. I weight 270 lbs and it doesn't shake and I feel more secure. I have already recommended this to a friend. It also said it would arrive July 16 2014, instead we were surprised when it arrived 3 days after I ordered it. Was very happy with the service we received.
I made a mistake, putting the stairs together. I need to take some of the bolts out of the handrails. Could not get some of them out. The nut just spun inside the plastic indent for nuts Tried many things to get out or carbide drill ended up using handy grinder with cut off wheel. once removed, I realize inserting the screws through the plastic that wasn't big enough for them melt the plastic and turned the nuts into nylock nuts. Once melted on the screw, it's finished you're not moving it. If any of the steps come loose and you want to tighten them up good luck if they are melted fast.
very poor quality for the money and too much time to set up, if you want to waste 2 hours with two people trying to fill it up with sand it isn`t too bad of an end product but a normal price for this quality should have been $40 -$50 , was expecting something much better for $181 plus tax.
