I definitely lost a little weight (and I'm fairly sedentary) because my pants are looser though I don't have a scale so I haven't officially checked. It didn't keep me up at night nor did it increase my heart rate like I thought it would, though I do tend to have a high tolerance to things. I didn't notice any funny aftertaste.
