The hyper tough 20v angle grinder comes with everything you need to get started, including a rechargeable battery. It's lightweight and made easy to hold without any discomfort. It has plenty of long-lasting power and the cutting wheel cuts perfectly. I like that it gives you three different ways to hold it, the handles easily unscrew and can be put on the left, right or top for added support and convenience for me when grinding. It also has a lock mechanism for locking the wheels in for safety. All and all I am very satisfied with the durability, quality and functionality of this product and highly recommend buying!
Super powerful tool for grinding. It comes with a 20V battery that lasts for so long, i forgot when i charged it last yet it is still going. Hyper tough was always my go to for tools and i never was disappointed. Superior customer support and tools that last for years even for someone like me who is always in the garage working on some project. The best part about it is it being cordless !!! I highly recommend it to any handyman or novice out there.
I went ahead and fully charged the battery when I opened it and the battery seems to hold up very well. I've cut a few pieces of metal with it so far and it went right through very easily. It only weighs three pounds so it's very lite weight. Felt very comfortable in my hand, and the handle has three different positions.
Weighs just over 3 pounds – very light weight for an angle grinder. You can position the handle on either side or on top providing secure control regardless of the angle. Left handed son really noticed that there are three options for holding with the handle. (right, left or at the top to create additional support.) Battery: Battery comes with a small charge. Then the initial charging time was overnight for each battery. I really noticed that the battery does not lose (seep out) its power in resting mode (without use it.) The 20v 1.5 Ah battery lasted long enough to finish each project (which was about 4-6 hours of use.) Used this for grinding a door to fit better in the frame, for narrowing brick edging, for removing sharp places on older metal patio furniture. The 20v 4.0Ah battery life is perfect for bigger jobs (which was about 12-15 hours of use.) Used this in the neighborhood for an unexpected project. We had a streetlight get backed into – the grinder cut easily through the heavy-duty plastic type pipe barrier to remove the damage and reinstall. Battery charger included. The difference in battery weight is not noticeable and it is interchangeable with other Hyper Tough power tools. Grinder Wheel: The grinder wheel is thick, heavy duty (measures just over ½”!) Wheel and handle are easy to install and change out. It has a half guard over top of blade for added protection. The wheel is a perfect size and thickness for plumbing projects. A cordless tool is incredibly handy to use outside and in places or situations where electricity is just not available. Hyper Tough angle grinder is a sturdy addition to my tool collection. I’ve been wanting one for a while for various home project and this 4.5” wheel grinder is perfect. Would make a terrific holiday gift addition to a tool collection!
This angle grinder is actually rather easy to use. Attach the cutting wheel, slip on the battery, and slide up the power switch. That's it. I like how lightweight it is compared to others I have tried - only around 3 pounds give or take. It's convenient that you can position the handle on either side or on top providing secure control regardless of the angle. It also has a lock mechanism for locking the wheels in for safety. On a full charge, I find you get roughly 4-6 hours per use depending on the project. Everything you need to use this tool is in the box, including the instructions. Overall it is simple to use and has worked well for some projects around my house.
Firstly, this tool has a nice 'heft' to it and feels well made and sturdy. I suppose I was expecting it to feel flimsier, so I was pleasantly surprised. The instructions on how to put it together were a bit lackluster (or maybe I just didn't understand it as written). I actually had to pull up a YouTube video to make sure I had it on correctly as I wasn't very confident in the instructions. However, once I watched the video it seemed stupidly easy. Not sure how to make it clearer in the instructions, but definitely need more/better pictures to show the orientation of the disc being applied to the rotator. While assembling the disc and handle to the grinder, I charged the battery, which was very quick to get to full. It snapped on to the base easily and had a button to show how much battery charge was left (love this). I had a little difficulty with turning it on because my hands are quite small and it has a little trick to getting the on button to slide up and in. It got easier, but still a bit awkward for me. It is likely a feature so you don't accidentally turn it on at a bad moment. It turns off very easily (again, probably intended). Initially I tested it out on some finish nails that were protruding and needed grinding down. Worked wonderfully and they are now even with the wood and unable to be seen. It does throw a lot of sparks, so be aware of this and definitely wear protective glasses. You can easily adjust the guard around the disc to 'shoot' them in a different direction if desired or needed. Definitely adjust the handle to a location that is comfortable to wield the tool. It makes a huge difference to start with it comfortable if you plan on using it a while. If it feels a bit awkward, change the handle orientation and try a different angle. Made a big difference for me with my small hands and lack of upper body strength. Overall, this will prove very handy for our upcoming projects. Next up will be getting a diamond wheel for this tool and cutting some tile trim for our bathroom.
Works well sharpening my lawn more blades. Haven't been able to run the battery all the way down yet, but it does have nice strength and speed making sure the job is complete. I'm sure the battery will br substantial
This is a very handy tool to own. I like the fact that it's cordless. The battery was quick to charge and holds enough charge to get the job done. The motor seems powerful. I used it to cut some aluminum for a frame that I was building to extend by car carrier rack. I would recommend this for light to medium use.
I bought 3 tools = 3 batterys i had to charge them up almost 3 times to do a big job with this angle grinder. I replaced my front spring mount on a ford ranger cutting alot of material eventually getting it completly removed had no elec power to do the job other wise I knew from the reviews the 2.0 battery would not last long i was right i bouht a half inch impact and a 3/8 drill got 3 interchangalbe batterys made 3 trips to charge batterys but got a big job done and now enjoy doing smaller ones easy
This Hyper Tough grinder is 20v with 1.5 AH. Unfortunately it is not very powerful, so it can'tbe used for anything but VERY light duty grinding. If you put any reasonable amount of pressure on it it overheats and cuts off, then you have to cut off and reset. It takes two hands to cut it on unlike other power tools. It works better as a sander, but still you can not use a lot of pressure or it cuts off. It may do better with a higher amp battery because it only lasted for about three minutes with the existing battery. I tried a buffing wheel on it and every time I tried to buff paint on a smooth surface it would kick off. Not sure if I just got one with a bad battery but I can not interchange batteries with my Hart tools to check. This is my first disappointment with any Walmart brand power tool. Maybe this one needs to go back.
