The bottom line is this hammer is absolutely fantastic, it's better than my dewalt driver hands down, and is just a smidget of the cost that any so called name brand is! I've used it more than any of the rest of my tools, it holds a great and long charge, and the power is ridiculously strong, just buy it and see for yourself! I highly highly recommend all of the new generation 2 hyper tough brushless tools!
This hammer drill is perfect for DIYers. It is powerful because of brushless motor and good quality. I would definitely recommend it to any DIYers. :-)battery capacity is a bit small for 4 holes 3/8" but I have other batteries to spare from different Hyper Tough 20V tool.
This helped me tremendously! I needed to install my new ring camera and with my old drill it was taking forever, but with this one, it was done within a couple of minutes
I have a pair of Craftsman battery drills that I have used for 20 years. I've of course purchased new batteries for them and they've never let me down. Moving from those tools to this Hyper Tough was a surprise. A good one. It's slightly lighter than the Craftsman, much smaller, but easily has more power. I used the hammer drill function to mount metal conduit into concrete. I drilled about 20 anchors. This little battery drill did better than even my corded hammer drill with side handle. I was shocked and incredibly pleased by its performance. And even without charging it straight out of the box, it drilled out all 20 anchors and still shows 3/4 on the battery indicator. Amazing. And the built in task light works great. It shines exactly where you need it, is just bright enough, and stays on for a few seconds after pulling the trigger so you can line up your next hole. Just an all around great tool.
This is an excellent value for the price charged. I use this little drill professionally because I need something lightweight due to a shoulder injury that makes it difficult to hold in place when using. I have no complaints at all. It has adequate power and the hammer-drill feature is nice to have since I do work in concrete from time to time. Time will tell as to the longevity of the tool, but to be honest, if it failed tomorrow I would still consider it a "worth it" purchase. Good job Hyper Tough!!
It does the job it is intended for. A hammer drill is definitely not necessary for most drilling or driving but for those few such as drilling into concrete they prove their worth. At its price it is hard to beat. The high or low speed option is also useful and used to only be available on higher end drills. I would suggest getting a second battery and the available rapid charger. Well worth the money.
Genuinely impressed for the price. This did not burn out at all unlike a corded name brand genuinely impressed for the price.
Everything on the tool worked great, Just wish it would have come with a second battery and fast charger.
Worked well and came at a very good price. The battery that came with it is the same as other tools and lawn equipment which is very convenient.
I attempted to drill a 3/8 inch x 3 inch hole in a 45 year old, 4 inch, non-reinforced outdoor concrete pad. Key word: attempted. I tried every speed with variable force applied. By variable force I mean from zero (weight of drill only), to moderate force, to every ounce of my 280 pounds centered over the drill. Finally got ONE hole down 2 inches and I quit. I needed TWO holes 3 inches deep.
