to be honest i bought this with the intention that i thought i would regret it but i do not. i love this thing. slightly on the heavy side but it works amazing, it suprised me. super easy to asseble and use. one tricky part of using a electric plug in one is getting used to dragging a cord around, i tripped a couple of times not going to lie. (used to gas one) but i am a small person and have arthritis in my hands and i can no longer start a gas one. so this was a great purchase in my book.
This is a powerful weed eater. I like it because it has a good handle with a nice grip, course I do wear gloves as well to protect my hands. It was easy to use, and much better than the old one that I'm replaced. The one thing to remember when you have some big weeds, and you keep going, it will tend to show a little bit of smoke. You definitely want to ease into that and you know turn it on and off so if you have one big weed, get to that weed, you know turn it on and then off real quick on and then off real quick. The reason for this is it will tire out the machine if you just let it operate and run run run. You don't want that, you want to get all the weeds and make it easy for the machine as well as for you. I would buy this if I was questioning which one to buy, I'm a woman and I need something easy to use, lightweight, and something that I can depend on. And it's cheap, so if it doesn't work just take it back to Walmart they'll give you your money back they have good warranties. I did buy the extended warranty because Walmart always stands by their products that they sell, especially if you have a warranty, then you have the guarantee that if something does go wrong in a couple of years, you can get a new one. Happy weeding everyone, it's time and I think we're having an early spring in 2026! At least in California🌞 it's going to be 77° in february!
Get the job done is easy to thread. I'm a woman who loves to do my own yardwork and things and this new toy of mine has been a complete game changer, convenient and easy to use. Lots of Durability covers. Lots of space when my lawnmower went down. I mowed my whole yard using this and it stood up to the challenge with no issues. It's a very great price. I would highly recommend this product.
Well, I was skeptical about buying this Because of the price of it being low. I was afraid it would not have as much power as I needed because I have a huge yard and even bigger weeds! If I could give this a rating higher than 1 to 5, it would be rated as a 20! I love this little machine and it works its hinnie off getting my job done! I recommend it for anyone small yard or huge yard. Fantastic machine and even more fantastic with a low price.
works really well for the price the only issue was the string has been packed so tight that it tends to stick but I'm sure it's because it's been boxed for so long it may have gotten hot which in turn the melted a little inside getting hot sticking to each other other than that's good product for the price
the string replacing part could be better, easier and more efficient doesn't have a safety button that locks the trigger, like the battery powered has, easy to pull the trigger by accident when manipulating or moving the machine, besides that very good price and I've been using it for a couple years, 2 or 3 times a week and still working
ok so here is what i think about the hyper tough 4.6 amp 13in electric trimmer i owe a few electric trimmers in the past and the motor burn out so i wanted to try this one and just see how it will do after a few trimmers later well after a few trim's down the road the one thing i started to see it the one thing i don't like in a electric trimmer smoke comeing out from the motor over heating i stop right away and note the the vent intake were clog with the grass going in the vent i let cool down and this time i try something to fix this and see i got my yard blower and blow right at the intake vents to get all grass an what ever is inside and when i did this i see lot's of grass come out and the vent was clear out next i started to use the trimmer and this time it ran just fine no block grass in the vents but ??? i would have to stop an repeat the same thing an watch for any smoke that is started to come out an blow out the grass from the vents it a pain in the butt but my plan works and the trimmer keeps going so the Hyper Tough 4.6-Amp 13in Electric String Trimmer does work good but again in order for it to work great is to keep an eye on the vent intake to the motor and keep it from over heating and have a yard blower ready to blow off the grass that's keeping it from doing it's job well keeping the intake vents clear will help you trimmer work well and have a yard blower handy an clear out the vents other that said the Hyper Tough 4.6-Amp 13in Electric String Trimmer does work well if you keep the intake vents clear of grass so it wont over heat this is my review and i hope this will help you if you want to buy one.
I returned it. I had a broken Black and Decker that quit feeding and it was a pain and someone stole it from me. Funny. The string would get down to 1 inch long and cut nothing, then I'd look and see I needed to take off the spool and let some string out. I'd rather have my old Black and Decker. The cutting width is NOT 13 inches when you trim around something. It cuts like my old trimmer with 1 inch of string. I used it once, quit and took it back and bought another Black and Decker. I got the 6.5 amp with the edger wheel. It's making a noise, so I'm going to lubricate the automatic feeder and see if that shuts it up. if that isn't it, it might be bearings or the shaft isn't installed right. Some people on the net seem to think that noise is normal. The HyperTough didn't come with any instructions or owners manual, luckily I've had a few weedeaters. IDK, buying anything nowadays is kind of a disappointment. Buyer beware... they just want your money and will give you as little as they have to in return. I remember the old Walmart, when the father was still alive. What a selection. I actually bought microcasette transcribe station in the office section back in 1997 or 1998. In a town with less than 9000 people in it. And I needed it for a new client as I was self employed and Tulsa was too far away to get it in time. And to carry something as specialized as that is unheard of today. It would sit on the shelf and they can't have that, it would interfere with the cash flow. Good Luck. If you're a consumer, you're going to need it.
I can't get a refill for the product I bought. Ever I thing I find is for another size. Why should I ever buy something in this product line again? Nothing ever aligns and requires a new purchase. I just want freaking refills....Nope. They want new purchases. I went to so many websites.... This is trash if you want it to last longer than a month
The string feeds out too fast with the two strings becoming entangled. Strings must be cut and detangled every few minutes. Tried restringing with no improvement.
