I should have known when I opened the box that quality wasn't going to be good when I saw two scrap pieces at the top. Tons of flashing material! I had it everywhere on my carpet and that flashing on the poles made it more work to remove it as the poles wouldn't seat in the holes. I can see one or two pieces of flashing, but every single piece had flashing with flashing to spare to litter my carpet! Poor workmanship! When I went to flip it (as they instruct you to assemble upside down) a section came apart. I was so annoyed! I usually find pretty good products from Hyper Tough, but this was just garbage. It will suit for now, but totally disappointed!

Liked the height of the unit. As stated by other reviewers, it is difficult to line up connections. Once done is great for my purposes. On a side note you need to keep heavier items on the bottom shelves if you can't attach it to a wall. As a renter that works for me.

The shelves were easy to put together. A soft, Deadblow hammer or a block of wood and hammer needed for assembly. I needed a sharp chisel and a hammer to knock off the 3 burrs, left behind from the Blow Moulding Die machining process. There were 3 burrs, per shelf. Other then this issue, I found nothing else wrong. It is a nice unit.

I liked the price. However, the shelf is not anywhere as sturdy or nice as the Hart brand that Walmart also sells. Yes, the Hart costs more, but if you need sturdy and strong for heavy things, the Hart one is the way to go. I may need one more shelf and if I do, I will buy the Hart one. Don't get me wrong, this is great for $40, but sometimes you just need more strength or the deeper size.

My main complaint is the legs. As my husband and I put together and flipped over, the legs fell right back out. It says to put together upside down and flip, but I would do it as though it's upright. The legs set in slots 1/4 of an inch if that, I took black tape and taped all my legs at the base of each to keep them from popping out. It made it feel sturdier and kept them from popping out of slot.

Everything about this shelf is well made and sturdy. My problem is that one of the struts is broken/cut in half with one end having been melted. Which makes structural stability impossible without spending money to send back or buy a replacement. The packaging was not damaged, it was shipped in its current state. I've never had an issue when buying these shelves until now but I will not purchase another.

When I ordered these, I thought they were like others I had ordered, with rounded columns. Those are fabulous. These have square columns, and are horrible. I bought two and really needed one ASAP, so I’m returning the other the stamping of everything has rough edges and cut outs that aren’t cut out, and nothing about it is square once put together.

This shelving unit is not sturdy. The part of the leg that goes into the self is only about 1/4 inch deep which means it does not hold the weight of the shelf. Its made of flimsy plastic. When assembling, the legs disconnect. When flipping it over per instructions and when moving, it disconnects. This is an accident and lawsuit waiting to happen. Buyers be cautious. This is poorly built.

These HyperTough 5 Tier Shelves are the Cheapest made Shelves I've ever brought an I brought two of em... They smell like burnt plastic, The molds are not cut right,they have pegs and plastic string all over the place. They Should have cost $20. Dollars better yet this company should have paid Me for ordering this cheep flimsy piece of merchandise... I'm cross between sending them back or putting this garbage out side my storeroom... Until this company makes a better product for the price I don't recommend these HyperTough shelves to anyone... Check the pictures I've sent with this Review/Complaint... My camera telling me there was an error processing selected files... Tried to send 5 pictures...

These units are so cheap I returned it the same day I received them they’re so poorly made it fell apart as I was assembling it ! Don’t waste your time these units are not good and flimsy the parts are cheap thin plastic I doubt it hold anything heavy.!
