Excellent taste, natural flavor, less sweet and more dense (actual paste) than Goya in the tin. Perfect for recipes, but less so as a ready to eat topping, at least to me. In comparison to Goya, which is sweeter, more spreadable (like jelly) and ready to eat straight out of the tin. I guess it comes down to what you're using it for. Both are great, but have separate purposes in my kitchen.
My adult daughter has had about every cake known to our area as a birthday or other occasion cake. I racked my brain to make something totally different. A Guava Cake.A pack of great value yellow cake with a stick of melted great value butter ,6 eggs and a quarter cup of milk and a quarter cup of olive oil.I sliced up two bags of guava paste and put it in the middle of the batter, It baked up at 350 degrees for 27 minutes as a dream golden dense cake.I sliced each round and coated them with guava marmalade and cream cheese frosting. Then frosted the 4 layer round cake with cream cheese frosting and drizzled guava marmalade. It was a big hit and now all the grand kids want this for their birthdays, half of which never had heard of guava before. They became real super fans of the fruit.
This product is so delicious! I made Cuban guava and cream cheese pastries and they were very easy to make. This guava gave the pastries the fruity taste to make these pastries a big hit.
when I lived in Florida this was a favorite snack, a slice of guava and a slice of cream cheese on a salt free cracker, delicious. I decided to treat myself and my family
Tasty and inexpensive. Better than other guava jams/flavored food iterms I've bought that were more expensive. Yes, it does have a lot of sugar but it taste so good mix with strawberries in desserts.
I love this guava paste that you can bring it to picnics without making any messes you can add it to any desserts or you can cut into chunks so you can have it as a side dish
It tastes very good! Conchita guava paste was my favorite but this one tastes very similar. I recommend this guava paste. My new favorite!
Worth trying. Good flavor, but too sweet. However, I I keep this in mind with any additional sugar in recipe. I make adjustments as needed. It is extremely sticky, so keep in mind before starting to work with it. Very good flavor for cookies. I have not tried it in cake yet. Good flavor for smoothies and kids love it. I find price to be extremely good and would purchase it again.
great snack but I try not to keep sweets in house cause hard to resist. focus is on protein veg a little fruit. I am thin but want to be size 0. bye
I love guava preserves, fresh guava and Hawaiian Sun Pass-O-Guava Nectar drinks, so I thought I'd love this. I made Cuban pastries with it, which are slices of guava paste inside puff pastry sheets which are then baked. I made some with thin slices cream cheese added to them too. The entire lot was horrid. The taste of the guava paste was so bad, my husband and I ate a couple of bites and threw out the entire mess. I'm guessing this is an acquired taste or something you have to grow up eating.
