I had previously ordered the small packets of these Idahoan mashed potatoes but it always made more than I could eat so I decided to get the box so I could measure out just what I needed. These mashed potatoes are tasty and taste like they were freshly mashed. They are perfectly seasoned for my taste.
These are the best tasting of all mashed potatoes. Hungry Jack is too thick, others are too sour, some are runny. Idahoan is just the perfect blend. I did add a bit more milk at the end when they are all done, to stir them up a bit lighter. Of course, a few tabs of extra butter blended in too.
There are so many possibilities with this mix. super fast, super easy, thin, mashed, mortar, and everything in-between! Easy base for Shepherds Pie, easy hot cup of something for a cold say. Mix in your favorite canned veggies, add some cheese, toss in some crispy onions and so much more. Excellent flavor, smooth, simple and easy to teach.
Taste is very good.\nToday I grew up on country mashed potatoes , everything we ate was country cooking. I was taught country cooking. And even I cannot miss these up do you need anyone else?Don't forget to add butter.I add a lot.My service dog loves mashed potatoes with a lot of butter he is spoiled.
Great taste and good price. These are great when you don't have the time to make actual mashed potaotes. They're also good for adding extra when you need more for twice baked because you ran short of filling. you can also add things to this like inions, cheese, cream chees, butter, bacon bits, etc... whatever you like.
Idahoan Original Mashed Potato flakes are my go-to for my holiday meals to make mashed potatoes. With these, I get the joy of having a side of mashed potatoes with my turkey or ham holiday dinner without the hassle of peeling, cutting, boiling, and mashing the whole potatoes but with all the genuine potato taste. The flakes are always flavorful and taste great and I can vary the consistency and adjust the texture of the mashed potatoes for the water/milk/butter I have boiled to dissolve them in. I like the mashed potatoes to be thick and almost solid, and I get that with these flakes. if you like creamy, you can use less.
I get these instant potatoes for a quick easy side dish with chicken , ham , beef , eggs . I make them with real butter water , milk and garilc powder . If I have any leftovers I like to add chopped onion , and a little bit of sweet or bell peper with eggs ,add cheese delicious.
All instant potatoes are about the same to me, but what won me over with this brand is that they don't just put the potatoes in the 'bare box' and seal it shut; they use an inner bag. Maybe I'm being a bit 'old-fashioned,' but I don't like to get [edible] products that are put directly into the box; I like an inner bag of some kind.
While I've never been a fan of anything “instant” as I get older and cook for just my husband and me, I cut corners to spend less time on my feet. My son told me about these and I gave them a try. Boy,was I surprised! They taste as close to homemade as anything I've ever eaten.
I am so tired of buying this product from Walmart and finding dead moths in it. I contacted provider and they said it was because of peels included in processing. Perhaps walmart is being sold more of substandard product than others.
