I needed a lot to deal with a septic tank overflow in my backyard. Same idea as a clogged drain in the house. I was worried about my exposure spreading product in the outdoors elements but this lye is not powdery, small crystals went right down to the "problem area" and nothing flying around going to clothes, exposed body, etc. Use common sense regarding the wind. Instructions on container were complete and easy to follow. This product will do large jobs, too. And , of course Walmart pricing and shipping were better than all others, I looked at several sources for same product. I would buy this again
I live in a newer high-rise, but the drains, especially the kitchen sink and disposal, always get clogged. This is the only drain opener that actually works and works fast. Also, I've used it in the shower, toilet and bathroom sink just because and seemed to keep the flow flowin.'
Absolutely works! Follow the steps on the bottle for best results. First clear out your drain with a hair removal stick from the plumbing department. Only step skipped was covering with a bowl, I found that unnecessary. It's been 2 months %26 I haven't had to repeat using yet. I've bought more expensive brands of this same product and this brand worked the exact same. I've used on a home on a septic system and none septic with great results. We don't over use. We use hair catchers in all our drains and sometimes the master shower just gets backed up and this is the only option to clear it out. Asked plumber if ok to used %26 said yes but don't over do it. Give this product a try before giving a plumber a call and racking up that bill!
I bought it to clean my old cast iron skillet. It worked and the skillet looks great. It took about 24 hours to clean all of the built up crud from the skillet but it worked. REMEMBER THAT SAFETY IS ALWAYS A PRIORITY! Wear gloves and safety goggles with ventilation.
Well my adult son stopped up the kitchen sink , both sides, with ramen noodles. The directions say, only try 2 times then call a plumber lol. I tried the process, in the morning, using only a tablespoon as the directions said, waiting 30 minutes, nothing happened over and over well just as i said, in the evening ,ok i give up, call a plumber lol, i put like a cup of the lye in each side of the sink then used a toilet plunger and then, it drained. Of course i ran hot water through both sides for awhile, after that so i wont ruin the pipes. Now the next day its still draining fine.
Really clears the drains in bathtubs %26 sinks. I use about once every 2-3 months %26 set a timer so as not to damage pipes. I also increase ventilation or cover drainage openings so no fumes can impact my pets' health. Just follow the directions closely. Much better value than Drano or Liquid Plumber, etc. Highly recommend.
Ordered this for my bathroom shower. I have a daughter with long hair who also likes to use thick conditioners %26 body scrubs - that's the problem. Have used many other products, and it they would help a little but didn't make a significant difference. The water still wasn't draining like it should. Used this right after receiving it (follow the directions), and my shower is draining like it should! This should last me a long time as well because you don't need to use much.
I tried 3 different chemical drain clog products, dish detergent and boiling water, vinegar and baking soda, and plunging without unclogging tub pipes. Both of my tubs were completely clogged and I think sewage was coming up from tub drains. It was depressing and disgusting. This product disintegrated the clog enough that I was able to plunge it clear! Try this product first. Not available at all stores, but has fast shipping online. I did use more than recommended but waited an hour before using again. I could tell the difference from this product and all the other methods when plunging. Nasty stuff came up the pipes into the tub, then went down with a few more plunges. Nothing would happen when I plunged after using other products and methods. You have to remove tub overflow cover near the spigot and put a thick wet cloth into the overflow pipe not just the hole to plunge. Works best if a second person holds the washcloth, but I was able to do it myself. Push cloth into pipe after plunging, pressure will push it out. This is my go to drain cleaner. My mom gave me the other stuff. It worked so good that I turned 4 sink faucets, and 2 tub faucets on full flow hot and cold, and flushed 3 toilets as quicly as possible and was surprised that drains were flowing properly. Wear protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses if you have to plunge after using drain cleaner. It can badly burn skin, eyes, etc.
I ordered Natural Ice Original lip balm. The delivery contained a different Natural Ice lip balm. Obviously the person who packaged by order was not paying attention so I am stuck with a product I can't use. Not happy
I have nothing good to say about this. It has an off-putting smell. My husband gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried it more than once and it did absolutely nothing. It literally like throwing money down the drain.
