Intex 12V Trolling Motor for Intex Inflatable Boats

So far, so good on this trolling motor. I haven't been able to try it out fishing yet however, because of bad weather the past couple of days.

I purchased this item to use on my inflatable boat. It was the manufacture and model recommended by Intex for my Intex boat. The price was better than anyone on the internet and was shipped and received quicker than was expected.

The issue is it takes 35 amps at maximum speed. My $90 Deep Cell Marine Duracell battery only gets two and a half hours at 23 amps. If you have that mean at setting number 3 you're lucky to get two and a half hours. So it's not really a trolling motor as much as it is get where you're going and anchor motor. Then hope you don't move around too much and you have enough juice to get home. Oh and the battery life gauge on the motor is not accurate.

bought as a gift

Took my wife out on the lake the first time I used this motor. Lots of power when you need it and very quiet on low. BUT second time I took it out by myself fishing, it would not run on speed 1 2 3 4 or reverse 1 2. Thus leaving me only with speed 5. Too much power when trolling for Catfish and very hard to control the 2 man Seahawks I was in. Thank goodness Walmart took it back no problem.

My first ever trolling motor. High hope. Great disappointment. Connected to battery. Not a single turn from the motor. Read manual and there was a line saying there is a safety measure that the motor won't activate when out of the water. So, brought it to the water, same thing. Not a single turn from the propeller. At this price I should have been very happy but at the end the purchase ended with total disappointment. Single star is over-rated IMHO. The motor was returned and refund.

Every picture except the last picture has a transom motor mount except the last picture its whitened out on the box.doesn't come with the mounting. It's just a motor. I thought I was getting both. The mounting is 70 dollars.

Scammed!! Paid twice as much for the same motor in Walmart

This trolling motor did not work in Speed 3 4 and 5. And did not work in reverse and speeds 2 and 3. I called the manufacturer and they said it was because I was not using the correct battery. So I bought a deep cycle battery. The trolling motor acted the exact same on the deep cycle marine battery. This motor is defective. My friend bought the same motor a week later and his had the exact same problem with speeds 3 4 and 5. I've been watching instructional video on YouTube by the manufacturer and it had the exact same problem on the video. And he said it was because it was not in the water. However we took the motor to the water attached to a kayak and speeds 3 4 and 5 still did not work.
