Jarrow Formulas Alpha GPC, Supports Brain Function, 300mg, 60 Veggie Caps

I just started using this product. When Life Extension updated their Cognitex, they removed the Alpha GPC. I tried the new Cognitex and knew I was missing something crucial. I am much happier adding this back! I take 2 300mg pills, so the amount is the same as the old Cognitex formula.

I purchased this formula as I trust the Jarrow and Life Extension brands. I'm going back to school part-time online and could use the extra brain support. I recently found out that I am pregnant and found in my research that choline is also very important for the baby's brain development. While I am trying to get the majority of my choline form food sources, I'm happy to have this extra boost from the Alpha GPC (under the watchful eye of my MD).

Alpha GPC is a water soluble source of choline meaning it easily crosses the blood brain barrier and is quickly absorbed by the brain. Being water soluble also means that less energy is required in the process of acetycholine synthesis, making it one of the more effective choline sources when compared with the likes of phosphatidyl and CDP choline.

I am taking this as part of the UltraMind Solution by Dr. Mark Hyman. This was one of the supplements in his program that I must have REALLY needed. Instant and dramatic perkup of the old brain! I feel sharper, clearer than I have in years! His program recommends 12 of these a day but I simply could not afford that. I am taking 4 a day and that seems to be plenty to help my brain work like it should... clarity... focus. Because it is so expensive (cudos to Swanson's for having the very best price available on it) I am hoping that this will not be something I have to stay on. But, if I do need it, I will probably find the money. It is making a dramatic difference in my functioning and outlook on life. CAVEAT: I believe we each are our own little chemistry factory. I am taking this as part of a program that also has me off all sugar, dairy and grains. So it is difficult to know if it would have this affect on someone who had different chemistry or is dulling their brains and bodies with toxins, sugar, etc. That said -- it is worth a try. I felt its positive effects after the very first dose!

I'm on my second bottle. This is the most effective choline supplement I've used. I can tell the difference in an hour or so after I take it. Highly recommend.

Not sure how effective yet, as a first time purchase, but the value seems good.

I dont have an opinions yet. Didn't grt them until Monday.

Would not recommend, it caused severe constapation .
