Works as expected...people in my office were Jealous theirs didn't come with the "Carafe". The only thing that concerns me is last week the screen was lit up but blank :| not too happy about that. We unplugged it, plugged it back in & it was fine. Also, it did get clogged & it is still very new. We unclogged it & are still happy with the purchase❤
First off, it does require a special new insert if you want to use your own coffee vs k cups. The ONLY place that sells the new filter is Bed Bath and Beyond but it was only 14.99. I use my own coffee in it and it's so convenient. The carafe really doesn't hold a lot of coffee. It makes about 4 cups worth so I kept my old coffee pot and put it up in case we ever have a bunch of people over and want to brew a 12 cup pot. I love it!
Once you get the hang of your Keurig 2.0 it is fast, convenient, and easy to use! I look forward to using my Keurig every morning. The touch screen and the settings makes it easy for me to get my coffee going each and every day. The best part about it is the carafe. You can make more than one cup of coffee for yourself or for your guests without waiting a long time and using more than one k-cup because Keurig has designed a K-carafe that makes it convenient to share! I also love the variety of drinks that are available for my Keurig. I highly recommend it ! Product was free from Influenster for testing and review purposes.
I want to start out saying I received this Keurig 2.0 model K450 complimentary to test and/or review. Not going to be too long of a blog. I may update when I have more time. When I got to be one of the people to try out the new Keurig I was very excited! As well as the Keurig I got a couple boxes of coffee, a thermal carafe and a carousel to hold your coffee. I tried each coffee and the thermal carafe as well as the regular carafe. In this house we personally like flavored coffee better. Sadly the coffee they gave us was all unflavored but one was hazelnut. The hazelnut was very watered down tasting IMO. I personally liked using the carafe better vs. the single. Seemed the carafe coffee tasted a little better. The single cups that we got are as follows and how we liked them. Single cups. I did make every cup of coffee that was non flavored 10 oz. not 8 oz. since I knew I wouldn't like strong black coffee. I did the hazelnut 8 oz. I did try one with the button "strong" pushed just to see what it would do. It looks like the coffee comes out slower and kind of struggles like it's really pushing to get that strong coffee flavor out. I probably should've used that on the hazelnut instead of one of the others. That could be why one was more bitter. 1. hazelnut by Green Mountain Coffee - watered down and not much flavor. 2. Starbucks Pike Place Roast - This was the one that wasn't that bad. It still was not that great not being flavored. I only have vanilla creamer as all my coffee's are flavored that I use in my regular coffee pot. It didn't taste bad but with maybe a flavored creamer it would be better. 3. Barista Prima Coffeehouse Italian Roast - This was GROSS! My mother who loves strong black coffee even said it was gross. It has some horrible plastic smell, and was so very bitter. No amount of creamer was going to fix it. I do not recommend. 4. Green Mountain Coffee - Nantucket blend - This one was just ok too. Nothing amazing though. 5. Donut House Donut House Coffee - on the more bitter side but I drank it with enough creamer. I have a friend who uses a Keurig the older model all the time and she said you will get used to the taste and tailor it for your needs. There was also a grey earl tea but I didn't try it. I am not a tea fan unless it's flavored. Onto the carafe coffee's... I made each one of these with the 3-4 cup pots option. 2 of them I used the carafe that came with the Keurig. The other two I used the thermal carafe. When using the carafe that came with the machine I noticed after 20 minutes the coffee was already getting to cool for me and I still had to microwave it to heat it up a little. I microwaved it in my coffee cup not in the carafe. I really do not like microwaving my coffee as it gives a slight weird taste IMO. That was a little disappointing as if I spent the money on this machine I would think the carafe should keep my coffee warm for a good hour if not longer. When I was a child my parents used a thermos when traveling filled with coffee. We would drive for well over 3 hours and that thermos kept that coffee perfectly warm. I feel that for the price of this machine they should automatically give you a thermal carafe. Not make you pay for one as an add on. Just makes no sense why you would want a carafe that doesn't keep your coffee warm for very long. It also could be a problem because you can't close the lid so the heat is coming out while it sits there. Maybe if they put a feature on the carafe to fully close it after brewing to lock in the heat it might work better. They also don't have that feature on the thermal carafe. The thermal carafe still had warm coffee after 30 minutes but the next cup that was poured another 30 minutes later was cold and needed to be microwaved. That is a big deal to me. I sip coffee up until about noon if not later. It would be nice to have something that keeps it warm and not one of those warmers for my coffee cups. I just don't like them. Maybe make a better carafe or one that can close to keep the warmth in. That's why I like coffee pots. They are heated and keep your coffee warm for as long as you need. Onto the coffee flavors and feelings..... 1. Mountain Green Breakfast Blend - watered down and not that great. 2. The Original Donut Shop Coffee Regular - This was really good! I was surprised I liked it as it is not flavored. With my creamer it tasted like a nice cup of coffee you get at a coffee shop. My husband said it tasted like Starbucks. I would definitely purchase that one again! YUMMY! 3. Green Mountain Coffee French Roast - Another one that was very good and also tasted like a specialty coffee shop coffee. I would also purchase this one again. YUMMY! 4. Green Mountain coffee flavored French Vanilla - This one I thought would be my most favorite and sadly it was watered down and no flavor. Not impressed. All in all trying this coffee machine I am impressed. It has a lot of features that I really liked that if you needed you could use like automatic timer. I liked how it felt like a nice expensive appliance with the touch screen. You don't have to push hard or multiple times. It works easily. I also liked the option of cocoa, tea, iced, or hot. I am excited to go out and get some of those and try them to see how I like them. It looks really nice and the colors are perfect. I like how you can just run hot water if you want to clean it out, etc. I would give this a 4 out of 5 stars. To get a 5 stare rating from me you would need a better insulated carafe and the ability to use your own coffee in the machine. A little easier way to pour in the water as well. Maybe it's just me and my limited space but I always feel awkward like I am going to drip water all over when pouring it in. Maybe not have people have to purchase so many accessories like the carafe, storage containers, ice tea glass, etc. I feel the coffee is rather expensive vs. brewing your own in a coffee pot. It would be nice to save some money on a large start up kit. Thank you for taking the time to read my review.
The negative reviews below are all true, however they are not really accurate either. I upgraded to this brewer from my trustworthy old Keurig model and it is a much better brewer once you figure out the quirks. Since it does not have very good information inside the box it creates a large amount of user confusion. I ended my first week disliking this brewer and more than a bit angry over many of the issues listed in the other reviews. However after a bit of exploring in the supermarket i found that singles in stores have "Check marks" and say for all Kuerig brewers. These work very well and come in a wide variety all ready. Also the greater flexibility in drink size turns out to be perfect now. i drink out of 16 to 20 oz travel mugs and get a whole mug from a single K-Cup and two pours. The strength control and the carafe sizes allow more of a weekend coffee setup. The feature for Wake and brew is something i missed in my old kuerig and i like that i can set up a carafe the night before and have hot coffee waiting for me now. My only complaint is minor, i did like the self brew basket for tea and the odd occasion that someone gives me grounds (i'm a know coffee lover so i get it as gifts). Last the carafe does not really keep the coffee warm very long once you take a first cup out of it. Needs a self warmer imo but that's nitpicking. All in all great brewer.
This is the first time I have ever used a Keurig. I got mine from Influenster for free for testing and review purposes. I LOVE the Keurig! I am however not a fan that I can't use the reusable K-cups or that I can't find any of the Carafe cups anywhere local. I will continue to use my Keurig as I LOVE the hot chocolate and cappuccino it makes!
My Keurig 2.0 brewer came through Influenster.com as complimentary for review. First, I never owned a Keurig before. I tested one old model at work and I liked the concept of brewing one cup but I found it expensive when we have more than one cup of coffee like we do at home. This is a reason why I was excited to have the possibility of brewing a carafe with the new model. It's simple as brewing one cup and you can also get a thermal carafe separately (the one that comes with the brewer does not keep the coffee hot). The downside to this new model is that this machine reads the cup lid and does not brew any cup that is not Keurig, even old cup models. This makes this brewer too exclusive to their brand and their choice of coffee and teas. I still like the Keurig concept but coffee lovers like me will not adapt to the coffee brewer by changing our favorite coffee, we expect the opposite
I was so excited to see this new maker that would make a carafe of coffee also. UNTIL I got it home and set it up and started to read about it. I was sure that they would make a dispenser available so we could use our own grounds-but no! You HAVE to buy their k cups. Ridiculous. I returned it the same day I purchased it. not to mention that the k cups I already have (several boxes) will not work in it! Nice try Keurig-you almost fooled me this time!
Biggest hunk of junk ever. I should have taken the recall on my 1st Keurig as an omen. The 1st K2.0 had to be replaced due to the sensor not recognizing the resevoir was full. I was using distilled water & was told by Keurig support that they were finding this issue in some Keurigs but not all, so they sent me a replacement. Keurig #2 worked fine on 2 # carafes but on the 3rd I had the same issue. Now the support folks are saying don't use distilled water but use "some" bottled water, recommending Dasani. Of course more expense to an expensive brewer. I will say this only happens when brewing a carafe, it doesn't happen when brewing K-Cups.
I have a older keurig and I love it, so I bought this one thinking it would be nice to make more than one cup. What a mistake, you have to have special k-cup for it to work and that does not mean it says keurig on the box. It says it makes 3to4 cups but it is more like 2 and a half cups. The Carafe does not keep the coffee hot for very long. I would give this a rating of less than one but one was the lowest I could go.
