With only 21 pieces the is very workable for a young child. The pieces are large so they can be found easily and soft, so if stepped on they don't hurt. This company makes dozens of model kits for many ages and states if a piece is lost, not to worry- they will work with you to get another one. Very nice, since that happens a lot with kids. They really understand their customer. My grandchild is 3 so she needed some assistance which is nice, we played together. This helped with her coordination and visualizing skills. She loved the colors and adorable parts. before long she had made up stories for her characters. I can see her moving up to more complicated sets as she matures. A big improvement over some other build it sets.
My child and I love this K'NEX building set, it is very fun and easy to out together, I like that it doesn't have too many pieces so that is not overwhelming for the beginner builders. You can still create different animals with this set which is great so it doesn't get boring so quickly.
We really like building toys. It keeps my children occupied and they can use their creativity. They can create something. This is a very fun toy. They played with it for a while, and had a lot of fun. I liked that they could be creative with it. We have many toys from this company. They make a lot of different products and we have generally been very happy with them. It worked well. This toy was durable. My kids can be a little rough with toys, but this continued to work just fine. We had no problems
My daughter has been having a lot of fun with this Kid K'NEX Safari Mates Building Set. I sat down with her to see what cute figures she could make and I wanted to get pieces to make something too! She made a lion and a worm figure that were really cute. The shapes are different as they are notched to snap into other pieces and there's a couple of cute feet shapes that snap into the long stick shapes. Making the lion was easy for my daughter as I showed her the face plate, mane and eyes that go on and she put them together. This is a great toy for motor skills and creativity.
Of course we made the lion first! I really like this set because it's so versatile and there aren't any small partsmall pieces to step on. Its a little to advanced for my 3 or 5 year old to assemble on their own but I'm sure by age 6 she'll be able to put it together on her own. We had a great time putting it together
This was sent to me for review as a part of the Walmart Sparks review program. I had a set a couple years ago for my granddaughter who is now 8 years old. She actually enjoyed them and played with them for hours. This set is for my 2 year old granddaughter, she's a little to young for them but she enjoys trying to put them together. I can't figure out what she's making but it's very cute sitting there watching her while I help her. K'NEX have been around for a long time and has always been alot of fun for anyone, even now years later. All ages can have lots of fun!. I enjoy building things myself and I am 55. All children should definitely own a set.
K'Nex building blocks is super fun for the kiddos. Really easy to fit together and play with as well as easy to take apart and clean up. Pieces are small enough to put away in a toy bin or toy box for easy cleanup.
The k'nex safari Mates is a cool little set and my grand daughter loved it. She would not let me help so that we could make the animal on the box but sh used the pieces and created her own cute toy with out much help. She is just turning 3 and was able to quickly figure out how the pieces connected and make a toy. I liked how sturdy it feels and how the slide together without much pressure and can be lifted and moved without loosing pieces. The only thing I wish was that there were a few more feet and maybe a few different eye choices to allow more creativity and fun. I guess we have to just buy more sets and they can be used interchangeably. Over all great toy would be appropriate for a child 3 to 8 or so. After that its too limited. I would pick a bigger set for an older child. It really was fun watching her trying the different pieces together and she made several choices before she tired of it. I took a picture of the last one after she had experienced play for about 30 minutes. lots of fun
I love toys that spark creative imaginative play and this small kit does just that. It has 5 different suggested poses, but of course your child can create whatever he/she wants to do with the 21 pieces. You would definitely have to have more than one set for another child to play with it though, since it only includes 1 pair of eyes, 1 face, and 1 hairy mane piece. That also means that only one creature can be built at a time, so you can't have a child play with 2 creatures together. Also I'm not sure how long the soft rubbery mane piece will last, but the rest of the pieces seem very strong and durable. Overall a cute toy that does promote building skills for younger children.
Item box arrived damaged which is disappointing when you are giving it as a gift.
