I LOVE this AWESOME sauce, it's perfect on rice, fish, shellfish, pork, chicken and Tukley breasts. I compared this to the Kikkoman soy glaze, they both contains all exact ingredients, however, the unagi sauce is sweeter, thinner and lighter in color. The soy glaze is darker, thicker and saltier. Regardless, I love both. The unagi sauce is less expensive
This stuff is irreplaceable in my pantry. I refuse to be without it. It saves me having to mix my own oyster/hoisin/soy, goes with everything, elevated basic dishes... it does everything. I wish it came in bigger bottles, honestly. It especially ramps up basic instant ramen and homemade fried rice. You need this, I promise. This is a holy grail staple.
Tasty sauce. I used it on a simple rice bowl with sardines %26 tried it with shrimp. The sauce has a very low heat level and rich flavor. It was yummy and a simple way to compliment my seafood. I would purchase it again. In the future I want to dilute it with a little water or oil and see if that makes it easier to distribute.
Walmart offered this hard to find sauce at a very low price I could not pass up. I consider it a 'finishing sauce' for serving. I buy expensive frozen grilled eel smothered in this thick sauce, imported from Japan. It preserves the eel's freshness and prevents drying out and it is mildly sweet and salty. I always wanted to have this sauce available for topping steamed seafood, I steam whole fish in a bamboo steamer basket and watery soy sauce is a bit too salty for fish but this is just right and a change from the popular drizzle of lemon juice. I have also dipped imitation crab surimi in this thick sauce to add flavor. This is a great sauce for experimenting. Next I will try it on a shrimp omelet. The use by date on my bottle is 17 months away. I'm ordering more! Note that in my opinion this is not the right sauce for basting chicken with, but I could be wrong.
Love Kikkoman products. They always deliver that unique Oriental taste. This sauce is no different. I love it on rice and fish since eel is expensive (and I'd be scared to mess up on cooking it). I found a recipe to make it too but this stuff tastes more like the sushi restaurants and has a nice texture (not too thick or thin) and just the right amount of salt (soy sauce based) and sweet.
This is the best sushi sauce I’ve ever Ever had a highly recommend it. It taste good on egg rolls taste good on steak with rice. It’s a good flavor. It is not spicy at all. I would recommend this product every time. Unfortunately, the store in Conyers Georgia doesn’t carry it unknown why but although other stores around within 15 miles due, just makes it inconvenient when you try to get it.
Next to my homemade hit or miss ell sauce it’s the best commercial eel sauce on the market (that I’m willing to pay for)
This is soooo good! I can't stop buying it. It makes Everything taste better!! I haven't been able to go without it since I first bought some. It's too good!!
It reminds me of eel sauce, which I love.
I ordered 2 bottles and they came shipped in a flimsy paper package both bottles had broken lids, and the one bottle had a popped seal and was leaking all over. I threw it away immediately so it didn't make a mess in my house but couldn't get a refund without returning it by mail or to the store.
