This product does what it says and more. I used it on an old deck behind my house. I didn't want to pay the high price to replace the deck because wood is too expensive these days. So I decided to do what my father had taught me years ago. If you want to make it sturdy again you just need filler. So he would buy those cans filled with the foam that expands and he would spray it between the cracks of the boards where the planks on top were nailed to the board under the deck. Then after a few days to make sure it was dry, used one of those ha ha, I guess it was called a ginsue knife ( SP ) and lay it flat on the boards where the foam was sticking up and just sliced each piece that was sticking up so the deck looked even and flat. Then he would paint it and it looked very nice. But he didn't have this Kilz paint. I bought an 5 foot extension handle for my roller so I could stand up while painting the deck. One thing I did not expect was a paint so thick that it would be hard to roll on the deck. But I found that if I sprayed a little water from a water bottle on to the paint while it was sitting in the paint pan it became very nice and it would stick on the roller and make the job go much easier. Only took me about two hours to roll the deck and it did come out great. The paint filled in many of the cracks in the old deck boards making it look really good. I still have two gals left and it says it is good for concrete too so I am thinking I will do the floor of my garage to see what that looks like. Have fun painting.
Takes a little practice to learn how to apply it but after that it works great. Follow the directions and prep your project beforehand and it works as described. Dried quicker than I thought it would which was a good thing. Very happy with the results. I used it on a 1200.sq ft area and I'd use it again.
A very thick coating paint that obliterates gaps, splinters and peeling surfaces. My porch looks brand new and has an anti slip surface from this product.
This stuff is amazing. The coverage of a gallon makes it cheap at $44. I painted the same area 4 times prior. This stuff looks like it will last forever.
It is a thicker paint that I put on with a roller. Because of the thickness it does take longer but the results are fantastic. I ended up putting on two coats but this pressure treated deck that was 30 years old. Yes, I've used different stains/paint over the years but this made it look like the deck was replaced. I was undecided with what color? I didn't want white for fear of stains and easily to show any dirt, didn't want darkness of browns anymore, so the grey really gave me the look I wanted. Remember I put on two coats that really made it pop. Each coat dries quickly and no mess paint.
Filled in all the cracks and sealed my old worn-out deck. I didn't realize it was textured and how rough the finish would be. It was great for the floor of my deck, but I couldn't use it for the handrail. I did paint the top rail and while it is rough, my plant pots don't slide off. I used a 4-inch brush and put it on heavily and worked the paint into all the cracks. It's been 3 months and it looks the same as the day I finished. One thing I don't love is that the light gray often looks dirty or muddy.
Product is fine but fair warning that the color is not grey it's that common blue color people paint their concrete porches. Looks different than the picture.
Manufactures date code is 8 / 2021 {1H128162 88128). This paint is 4 years and 8 months old. Kilz carries a three year shelf life anytime after that can lead to major problems! I ordered on-line and returned it to a local store for a full refund. BUYERS BEWARE!!! Note: The front label was even a different color!!!
I think this would be a good item ...if u could get a can of it shipped without it being damaged. I have had to take the last 2 back to the store for a refund because of FedEx shipping and Walmart packing. the store is out of stock so I have to order online again! Guess what?? it's damaged again!! Kilz should be upset at the way their product is being handled. I just need a can that is NOT damaged 😡
I bought 3 gallons and all three were so thick that you could not stir it. They appeared to have been frozen at some point, and one of them had been opened and someone attempted to stick a paint stirrer in it, and returned it and Walmart stuck it back on the self. This is a good product, but Walmart is at fault on this.
