I bought my KSM150 stand mixer less than 1 month ago. This wire whisk came with the mixer. After just 3 uses it started leaving black residue. I never washed it in a dishwasher, so it seems to be a manufacturing defect. The mixer itself works perfectly. However, I'm very disappointed with the quality of the whisk attachment.

The original wire whip that came with my KitchenAid mixer years ago was stainless steel, rugged (it lasted through hundreds of divinity recipes over 20 years), dishwasher safe, and looked like the picture on this web site. This replacement is a cheap cast aluminum base with visible cast and machine marks and aluminum wires and the manufacturing grease still on it. The little card that came with it says "Hand Wash Only".

I included a note with the return asking for help to order a compatible wisk but have not had a response. I have tried several times to make contact by phone and website for assistance so rather disappointed. I would really appreciate some help to order the correct wisk for model 5KAM90AMY .

I'm on my third whisk attachment in under two years. It continues to have wires snap, and appears to be an ongoing cost if I want to use my machine to whisk anything. Given the cost and high shipping cost to maintain a necessary function, it greatly tarnishes my opinion of my mixer overall.

Who in this day washes anything by hand, the dishwasher is 90% of peoples lives so you would think that making equipment for a high end appliance dishwasher safe would be high on your marketing objectives. I would be happy to pay more for a dishwasher safe attachment than a aluminium coated item that destroys after two washes in the dish washer. Think its time to go back to a high end product and promote it to be.
