[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this recently along with another 4.7L Bowl - it's super handy to have an extra beater. It allows me to move from making a cake to a batch of buttercream icing without having to stop and wash everything up first.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time using this tool, and so far it's excellent. Mixes the dry ingredients perfectly, right from the outside of the bowl. Saves my Arthritic hands!
I bought this to replace my original flat beater that came with my mixer. After 7 years, the enamel had started to chip off. I prefer this to the flex beater as this doesn't leave a ring of unmixed ingredients at the bottom of the bowl like the flex beater does.
I bought the stand mixer on January 2026. I only used the flat beater twice and it's already chipped. Terrible accessories. Although I made sure the beater would not touch the bottom of the bowl by running it empty before adding any batters, after hand washed it, the bottom of the beater is still chipped. I was so excited when I bought it.
I was making a batch of cookies for my sisters bridal shower and the coating chipped off and now I have to find a new one within 2 days. I have only used it a handful of times and hand wash all the time (learned my lesson with the terrible black residue from the whisk attachment). I was so looking forward to my KitchenAid and received it as a gift for my 30th. It's not exactly cheap but between the chipping coating on the attachments and the top of it already wobbling so much I have to hold it or it will fall off the bench - it's definitely not worth the money. Will be selling it to help pay for another brand of mixer now.
The white paint chips into the food so we cannot use the mixer anymore. Very disappointed with Kitchenaid as they sell unusable products for expensive prices.
I seldom use this attachment but noticed the plastic coating has blistered, don't know why KitchenAid coat it, if the plastic is not good enough / long lasting, why not leave as metal (no coating) then you would not have to spend money replacing blistered attachments.
Chipped off while mixing after few months use, hand washed all the time straight after using. quality is bad, wasting all the food and our money as a very small business. If lots of people commented here having the same issue, KitchenAid should have it reviewed and replace with the stainless steel one. It's unacceptable with this standard for food processing product
I have numerous kitchenAid attachments for my stand mixer. However if find this flat beater very poor quality. The enamel has chipped off exposing the metal. The enamel has ended up in the food. I am reluctant to purchase another beater like this one however i do not think i have much choice! Kitchen Aid should replace free of charge!
As with most other reviews of 1 star, the white coating is chipping off my beater and into the food it is mixing. Whoever designed this site made a huge error. Not something you expect for such an expensive machine but the part needs replacing. Disappointed
