KitchenAid 5.5 qt Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer, Contour Silver, KSM55SXXX

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I am so happy I invested in such a high-quality and versatile tool. I find the lift design more powerful and sturdy than the tilt models. I use my mixer multiple times a week. I love the grater and slicer attachments and the food processor attachment. They make meal prep fast and easy. They are also easy to clean. I also love the ease of using the regular bowl attachments. The matte black looks great on my counter and I've gotten compliments from guests for its aesthetic. I can't wait to try more attachments in the future!

I gave 4 stars on quality for 2 reasons, this came with the coated dough hook %26 paddle and they're known to break down %26 chip the coating. I would've much preferred the stainless option. The 2nd issue was the lack of "knob" for the bowl lever. It shows it in the manual as %237, supposed to be included but mine did not. My boxes were completely sealed on my end. The manufacturer's box was in a shipping box %26 no damage was present. The things I do like, are the fact this thing feels robust. Lots of metal in the construction throughout, very little plastic mostly to trim %26 knobs. I'm thankful that it's trying to play the part well. The stainless bowl feels quality too. So far, I like the handle and the ease of release, but I'm still getting the hang of locking the bowl in place. Snug fit with a tight spring. Nothing wrong with that %26 probably preferred. I've been eyeing this unit for years.... and finally gave in. I'm not regretful in the least.

I bought this because I used my daughter's mixer and I LOVED it!! Never thought about getting one before %26 now I can't even think about not having one. It is awesome to use!! One of the best purchases I have ever made!! I definitely recommend this product.

Nice looking mixer. The only problem I have with it so far is the mixer paddle is coated white and the coating came off in a spot before it was even used. Kitchen aide said they are sending a replacement but it hasn't arrived yet. I made one batch of cookies and everything else worked well.

Assembly was easy-just open the box and it's all together. The mixer isn't loud and doesn't vibrate. Next Christmas you can expect I'll be making cookies from scratch.

Bought this stand mixer about 5 months ago for a stronger motor for making bagel dough. So far it has functioned very well! This morning after making a batch of cookies I noticed paint chipped off of the stock paddle attachment when using the stock bowl. Huge bummer to have to remake the cookie dough due to paint chips! This is not safe and should not be happening.. Hopefully they reconsider paint covered attachments, if you're buying this recommend upgrading those immediately.

Seems to be of great quality. Haven't used it yet because I'm going to have to return it. Product description specifications says it's 11" in height, but that's way off. Actual height is 15¼ ". I have only 11 ½" clearance from counter to overheard cabinet. What a shame.

mixer is ok, the dough hook is chipping, and since it was purchased over 1 year, i am out of luck... this should not be happening to a kitchenaid appliance... quality is going downhill...

My Mixer broke after its first use on cookie dough! I had gotten this product a month ago, came in perfect condition, read the manual, did the dime test, looked at what attachments to use for what, and what speeds. Whipped my sugar and butter at around 5-6 speed. Went to 1/2 speed when I started adding the flower as recommended for cookies/ dough. When it started to mix, the motor suddenly stopped. We tested the outlets, checked the chord connection to make sure it wasn't loose, tried running it without the bowl, and it just would not start! I was so upset because I thought this would last me years! I took every precaution, and on first use, it broke. Definitely a manufacturer error, or they just don't make them like they used to. I really like this brand, and people around me have had their mixers for a while. I'm hoping this can get fixed and fast! Hopefully I can change my review :(

This mixer is beautiful but I have only used it a handful of times and now it will not turn on. This is the second time my stand mixer has broken. These are really not worth the price tag.
