The KitchenAid 2-Qt Ice Cream Maker attachment for my KitchenAid Tilt-Head stand mixer is convenient and easy to use. I appreciate find ways to make more organic homemade foods; especially ice cream. Now instead of always using store bought ice cream to make a Smoothie with fresh fruit; I can use the KitchenAid attachment to have less ingredients I don't need. Although, If you check the LABELS on the store bought ice cream there are one or two that have the fewest ingredients - more homemade, "pure and simple". I love ice cream.

durability is excellent, texture of the ice cream is good, cleaning is good, I always wait till it's completely room temperature. holds well in the freezer.

This is awesome. If you have room just always keep it in the freezer. I put my freezer to -6*F that's the lowest she goes lol I have put yogurt into it, made some amazing vanilla ice cream, and one of the absolute best ones I've done is the coffee ice cream. I also put some rum into a blender with pineapple and coconut cream then put that into it as well! (That is dangerous be careful lol) In 30 mins you have a nice soft serve, and let it be in the freezer (after removing it from the bowl first of course) and you have ice cream. I hope it continues to be good since I've had it for about a month only?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just used this yesterday for the first time. It was a little difficult to get the dasher and bowl in place for me, but the process of mixing and the end product were great! Next time I will add slightly more sweetness since it states in the manual that if frozen, the sweetness will be subdued. It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but it should pay itself off in a few batches after buying gelato for my grandkids and paying outrageous prices (even though I can't make all the fun different flavors they have). The only real complaint would be how heavy it is, but I understand why.

This works great and the quality of ice cream it makes is second to none! However, there are 2 things you need to know before buying: 1: You need a good amount of freezer space. It has to be fully frozen for at least 12 hours before using. 2: you MUST cool your ice cream mix for at least a couple hours prior to mixing. I made the mistake of not doing that and it won’t freeze the liquid. Otherwise, enjoy your machine! We love it!

I bought this attachment because I had the machine and it was less than a creamini. I also liked the thought of only having to freeze the bowl ahead of time, rather than all the ingredients, so it was more "whim" friendly. It does work if you follow the instructions and start the machine before you add your mix. Otherwise it freezes to the bowl and then won't spin. This is also what happens at the end. There is about 20% of the ice cream frozen to the bowl and will not scrape off easily, which means wasting ice cream or scratching your bowl. Waiting until the bowl thaws to wash it is irritating too. This system has it's flaws but it was still fun to make ice cream with my kids. I just doubt it'll be as often as I intended.

Purchased online as a gift and store pick up. was disappointed when the person unwrapped it and found a "clearance tag" and price on it. i never thought to look for a price tag on the item and i certainly did not get that deal on it. could have saved $17 on it.

I saw the ice cream bowl was on sale for 40$ dollars off so I bought it when it arrived it was clearly used in the sense of it was not sealed and also there were used Halloween candy wrappers in the box which was odd, the website did not say it was used or refurbished. Very disappointing purchase from Walmart not the first the Walmart website has let me down either.

I had been eyeing off this product for many months and since being given it for my birthday, I hate it. I've used it four times and I don't think I'll ever use it again. It didn't come with any recipes, and the provided instructions are minimal and not very clear. I had to look up videos and instructions online as not even the KitchenAid website was helpful. It takes a lot of space in the freezer. It's quite high so I have to remove the drawer to fit it in my freezer. The drive assembly doesn't fit easily on the machine- it's meant to slide in but with the metal skirt it never sits flat and can take a few attempts to connect to the dasher. When you have it all attached there is almost no space to pour in your mix. Unless you use a piping bag, it's very messy. I have never been able to churn for the recommended 20-30 minutes. It gets stuck and starts skipping after about 10-12 minutes. My record is 15 minutes. It's also inconsistent at mixing. The bottom is always colder and stiffer, the middle section better churned but the top section has done hardly anything. The texture of the finished ice-cream is inconsistent as a result. It's difficult to remove the ice-cream once churned. The dasher holds a lot of mixture and it's a fiddly shape to clean. The bowl is also quite deep and narrow so it's hard to get enough leverage to scrape out semi-frozen mix. It's a great idea and it looks nice but it'd never recommend it to anyone. I find it hard to believe it has so many positive reviews.
