[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the ability to combine appliances and reduce storage, so this is a great accessory for my Kitchenaid. One tool, and barely any manual effort - it's great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to make my own ricotta filled ravioli. This pasta attachment has made it so much easier and quicker for me. I save so much time now, so I can make them more often.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just love how easy this make making beautiful fresh Pasta, even use it for rolling out fondant icing fir small cakes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted the pasta roller, was not disappointed. Great product. Kitchenaid service great, quick secure delivery. Very happy!
I have had a manual pasta roller for 25 years, which does the job nicely, however Wow! My KitchenAid pasta roller makes making my own pasta sheets so easy. It is so quick and I have two hands to handle the sheet, instead of having one hand turning the handle. Love it so much have purchased one for my daughter. Loving my Kitchaid stand mixer as well.
It is somewhat unfair to ask for a review after a week or so of receiving an item that one wants to use with joy for years. I have had two marcato atlas pasta machines and for each the rollers lost alignment , ending up unparallel with each other. This caused the pasta sheet to be squashed to one side , especially on thinner settings. I really really hope this will not happen with the kitchenaid attachment. The first two uses were satisfying and a joy to use. Perhaps later I can revise my rating from a three star (sitting on the fence) to a five star rating. Durability is a matter of sustainability. Products that fail also waste a lot of energy and material as well as consumer confidence. I hope kitchenaid will meet the durability test.
The input shaft fools you, it is stainless steel, looks rugged. But,,,, the inside is a 5/16 hex pinion which engages into the plastic roller shaft. Hmm, metal engaging into plastic with all that torque to drive dough through the rollers; a failure just waiting to happen. Yup you guessed it, the plastic stripped. Now it's a boat anchor other than it's too light to anchor a boat. Don't waste your money, you're better off buying another brand.
I admit I have had and loved my pasta roller for a number of years. I bought the three peice set. Now however like so many people the plastic guides are cracking. I can't find replacements and you would think that would be an option for a mainly stainless steel appliance. I don't want to waste, I can afford to buy new but it should be easy to fix th problem.
I really loved my pasta roller until the part in plastic broke and now my pasta stick and broke and it's impossible to use it anymore. I don't understand why this plastic is so cheap. So now I can not use my other pasta cutter.
I love the product. Unfortunately I jammed it and the sacrificial drive shaft connector that is designed to snap and stop the rollers crushing fingers etc did indeed break. All my fault and that should be no problem as three screws are all that is required to be undone to slide out the broken part and replace with a new one. BUT KitchenAid Australia don't stock the part. They just suggested I buy a whole new roller. Totally unacceptable. I have had to order the part from the US. Really annoying and the people I spoke to were embarrassingly uninformed about heir own products and the role that the part plays in ensuring safety in use of the rollers.
