[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm 72 years young and love being in my kitchen using my kitchen aid. The grain mill is a revelation to me. To mill my own flour has changed my bread making and cake making. Never too old to learn something new.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to from various grains for inclusion in my sausages, which I make using the Kitchenaid sausage maker, and also to make pasta, also made with the kitchenaid pasta making kits. The grain mill allows me to choose the grain size, a brilliant ability given the very limited grain sizes available in commercial stores, and also allows me to make amazing grain mixes for experimenting with torrent pasta flavours.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this attachment as I wanted to be able to grind and mix my own bread flour from grain. It works well and not as much time grinding as I had expected. The front select dial for size of grind is easy to use. The product is cast so no plastic parts. I did purchase this on sale so the price was very reasonable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been please with the flour I've milled from wheat berries. To my eye the flour is near-indistinguishable from other high quality whole wheat flours I've purchased. Milling is not as quick as I'd expected, and a little grain remains unmilled below the auger which matters for small quantities measured up front. As an add-on to an existing stand mixer this is much more affordable and counter space efficient than purchasing a dedicated mill appliance.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Feels solid. Works well. Achieves a consistent and fine flour. It's great to be able to buy whole grains then process my own on the spot for baking. We can especially taste the difference when eating homemade fresh pastas.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Grain Mill attachment for my Kitchenaid and love it. The different settings makes it easy to mill to any size, and it works exceptionally well. The flour from grains is so much tastier than store bought flour and it makes the tastiest whole wheat bread I've ever tasted.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used twice now. It does work well and as expected but cleaning is not easy. Need to open all the parts for a complete clean. In two run found Crome from the gear attachment which connects to the actual machine started to come off. After the grind is completed still grains stuck inside the machine Observed that if you fill the grains and stat the grinding after this I found very hard to adjust the grinding settings.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've made a couple of batches of flour with the grain mill. The result is not as fine as I would like however I accept that this is not a stone mill - it is a metal auger and it won't grind the grain as finely. I'm using Wheat Grain Correll Biodynamic from Sovereign Foods and made a couple of different style bread loaves. The mill works well although the loaf is a little heavier and a slightly less "bouncy" feel to the dough as it proves and doesn't show a lot of gluten development, which I think is due to the coarser grind. I tried running the grain through on the coarsest setting first, and then again on the fine setting and this seemed to provide a better result than going straight to the fine setting. I then sieved the flour to remove any chunky bits and out of 500gm flour this was only about 10g. So overall a good result. The mixer itself is doing a lot of work and gets reasonable hot which is why they specify to do a batch and then let it cool down. Happy with the result overall though!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I got this for Christmas 2025 and was excited to try it out. Works great with winter wheat grinding into flour but I tried cracking corn with it and it Jammed up and wouldn't grind. Plus once it jammed up the half ground corn that it did grind wouldn't feed into the grinding wheel for a second grind anyway. And it is a bit slow even when turning the mixer speed up to almost full speed it still took about an hour to grind 4 cups of flour. Also concerned that the grinding wheel mechanism will slowly get dull and then take even longer to grind things. Overall it seems like a great idea but just needs a bit more thought to it so it can be more efficient and not burn up your mixer just to grind a few cups of flour.
I bought the attachment for my mixer, was very excited to put it together ready to use. After grinding only 2 cups for the very first time (it says you can do up to 10 at a time) my kitchen aid got so hot a stopped working. It's quite slow to grind and it just gets so hot so quickly. Did not buy again as very hesitant to use since the warranty only fixes this issue once
