Good grinder for the price. When you use it put vegetable oil on the shaft and don't over tighten it (hand tighten) and you'll get good results. If a little meat comes out through the threadings it's no big deal, it's better than metal in the food.
I absolutely love Kitchenaid products - they are great quality and I haven't had an issue with anything in the 10 years I've been using them. Highly recommend all products!
Bought this for my husband and he made the best beef burgers ever and we knew exactly what was in them! Our tip - don't push the meat in or the fat can clog up. Just drop the pieces in and let it feed through itself. Love this product!
I have not been satisfied with the quality of ground meats from my grocery store, yet I use ground meat for so many of my favorite recipes. The KitchenAid food grinder allows me to have the freshest, leanest, and most flavorful ground meat for my meatloaf, burgers, and chili, just to name a few. I love it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve the quality of their food. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is one that we bought to replace our one that was determined to be a loss due to a fire in our home. I have used other meat grinders and feel this does not even come close to how they worked. I have never had any problems with this. I would highly recommend this to a friend!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I purchased this because my husband has trouble swallowing. I purchased a cookbook that said to double grind all the meat used in the recipes. All that being said it works awesome. I used it to grind the onion so it was small also. Very easy to use. I love my kitchenaid:)
This Kitchen Aid attachment does what it says! Pretty pricey though however,I was given my Kitchen Aid Classic Mixer from a good friend no longer with us God bless!! I'll purchase all attachments over a long period of time my goodness. I simply love Kitchen Aid from a child and I'm 60yrs now!! So I will always give my Kitchen Aid purchases a high 5
I like to make foods like sausage cheese balls but mixing and grating ingredients is painful with arthritic hands. The grinder attachment ground and grated the moist ingredients easily. Using the dough hook made mixing and kneading the dry ingredients with the moist. This was the first time I made sausage cheese ball without having to pause because of the arthritis in my hands. I've also found that the whisk makes Quinoa Bisquik very easy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I use mostly lean beef roast cut into pieces as per directions. I usually run it through the large hole die first then grind it a second time through the small hole die. The extra freshness of the resultant burgers is well worth the price of the device and the effort. The only drawback is clogging caused by sinew and silverskin in the roast. I recently bought this grinder at a kitchen/chef supply store. I was excited to have item to use with my stand mixer. Sadly, the housing sustained a crack during usage. I was careful not to overstuff the unit, or apply too much pressure with loading meat. I expected more, especially because I certainly paid the price for the name. I will continue to use Kitchen Aid products, but as far as this item, I guess I am better off using the old school manual unit that clamps to the table.
