KitchenAid® Food Grinder (FGA)

Good grinder for the price. When you use it put vegetable oil on the shaft and don't over tighten it (hand tighten) and you'll get good results. If a little meat comes out through the threadings it's no big deal, it's better than metal in the food.

I bought this several weeks ago. I had some spiral ham left over from the holidays. My husband will only eat my ham salad as he knows I am very careful what goes in the ham salad. The ham ground at the right consistency. I’m looking forward to using it on garden produce this summer

I absolutely love Kitchenaid products - they are great quality and I haven't had an issue with anything in the 10 years I've been using them. Highly recommend all products!

I have had this attachment for 6+ years and haven't had any problems with it. I don't process whole deer or anything like that, just occasionally use it to grind up steak for some gourmet burgers or I also use it to grind chicken. Connective tissue is always going to be a problem in any meat grinder. If I have tough meat, I'll grind it with the coarser grinder plate (bigger holes) and then rerun the meat through with the smaller holed plate.

I really don't understand the poor reviews left for this grinder. I took the time to read the instructions and watched a couple videos before using. If you follow the instructions and tips, using met that is nearly frozen or frozen this grinds with no problem. What I do is cube my meat in 1 inch cubes, place them in a freezer bag and flatten out and freeze them. When they are mostly frozen I start grinding. Great unit.

This product is exactly what you would expect from a Kitchenaid product...Looks great, works great, and fits great. Excellent product.

Bought this for my husband and he made the best beef burgers ever and we knew exactly what was in them! Our tip - don't push the meat in or the fat can clog up. Just drop the pieces in and let it feed through itself. Love this product!

The major reason for the poor performance of this power take off unit is the main screw in my opinion. We have owned a couple of KitchenAid mixers over the years and they preform nicely for the price. I also bought a brand new Hobart N-50 mixer that should outlive our grandchildren. The flour mill attachment on the other hand is a reasonably decent attachment for the KitchenAid mixer. I recommend the STX Turboforce 3000 for a value based machine to grind your meats and or cheeses. The plastic main screw in the KitchenAid should be made of metal preferably stainless steel.
