The strainer itself seems to work very well. however the feed tube on the grinder attachment that you connect the strainer onto is very small. therefore larger vegetables such as tomatoes must be cut up into quite small pieces in order to process them.

I don't can a large amount of tomatoes at once, so this is compact and easy to use and does the job very well

You have to "read between the lines" on the description of this strainer. it doesn't just "work with" the food grinder, it REQUIRES it as it ONLY attaches to it. The photo is VERY misleading as the parts NOT included are not greyed out, so since a picture is worth 1000 words I was easily misled.

No instructions were provided on how to assemble or use the strainer. I had to go to YouTube just to figure out how to put it together and operate it. The product listing is also misleading. It doesn't clearly state that an additional $40+ attachment is required to actually use the strainer. The photos make it look like everything you need is included, which is not the case. The included “Safety and Operating Instructions” are basically useless. They don't explain how to attach the unit to the grinder at all—just generic warnings like not putting your fingers in it while it's running. Overall, poor documentation and misleading product presentation. Very disappointed by a brand I've trusted for years. Do better KitchenAid. Your name is your worth.

not compatible with KSMMGA please explain why i would need to buy the cheap plastic one instead of using the metal one ...

Cone broke after 1 use. There is a seam in the strainer cone that split after first use. Difficult to clean as well. Very disappointed. Check if you can buy replacement cones before buying.

Was delivered ahead of schedule which was a nice surprise. Was packaged nicely and arrived undamaged. I purchased the Kichen Aid Fruit and Vegetable Strainer to make Raspberry and other fruit Jelly and tomato juice. The strainer is so easy to put together and to take apart for clean up. My tomato juice turned out so nice, just like store bought. I highly recommend the Kitchen Aid Fruit and Vegetable Strainer and the company whom I purchased from through Walmart.com

Terrible compatibility. Why would you make a metal food grinder that isn't compatible with the fruit and vegetable strainer or vise versa? Ridiculous. I was looking forward to processing all of my fresh tomatoes but was disappointed to learn that the KSMFVSP strainer isn't compatible with the metal grinder (model KSMMGA). Very disappointing. I received both as gifts at Christmas and now can't return them. I was expecting better from Kitchenaid.

I got this as a gift to use with my KitchenAid food grinder, but the part that's supposed to fit into the attachment hub doesn't match the notch at all. It won't lock in or even go in, making the whole attachment unusable. Yes, I have the food grinder attachement required to use this attachement. Why would a brand‑new KitchenAid accessory not fit my mixer? It is not the old style and it is not refurbished as far as I know (again it was a gift). I have no receipt so I dont know when it was purchased. So I now have a worthless dust collector.
