KitchenAid Fruit and Vegetable Strainer, White, KSMFVSP

I am unable to use the new fruit and vegetable strainer attachment, as it needs a piece not included in the set. I believed I had that piece as part of the meat grinder attachment, but KitchenAid changed the design between these two purchases. The two elements do not fit together. I will now need to purchase yet another kit to accommodate the fruit and vegetable strainer. It is especially frustrating because, although I live in a small town with a class-act kitchen store, they are unable to carry KitchenAid products because they are too small to provide merchandise, according to KitchenAid. That's a mistake. And it forces me to purchase on-line where I cannot conduct business with real human beings. I tried calling KitchenAid when I first placed the above order, to make sure all was correct. I was on hold for about 1/2 hour. I finally hung up.

This was used to juice a variety of tomato types. It works best with juicy tomatoes not the seedless, firmer tomatoes. It worked well with de-seeding the juicy tomatoes. The firmer tomatoes clogged up the auger & liquid backed up necessitating dismantling. Not sure if liquid backed up into mixer drive area. What a nasty scare! Of course, no directions and mixer did work after a few minutes rest.

No instructions were provided on how to assemble or use the strainer. I had to go to YouTube just to figure out how to put it together and operate it. The product listing is also misleading. It doesn't clearly state that an additional $40+ attachment is required to actually use the strainer. The photos make it look like everything you need is included, which is not the case. The included “Safety and Operating Instructions” are basically useless. They don't explain how to attach the unit to the grinder at all—just generic warnings like not putting your fingers in it while it's running. Overall, poor documentation and misleading product presentation. Very disappointed by a brand I've trusted for years. Do better KitchenAid. Your name is your worth.

Very little instructions, it doesn't tell you that you need another attachment. I have the fruit and meat grinder attachment that is needed, but that doesn't even fit. I don't know if it's because the grinder is older, (but less than 10 years old). I had to go online to find instructions. I think KitchenAid could do a lot better. I am very frustrated and extremely disappointed.

The time saved making tomato sauce with this is crazy but we didn't notice you need to have the grinder attachment already, this attaches to it. Luckily we had it already so no big deal!

Do you have any idea how many hours of my childhood could've been spent playing instead processing tomatoes if Mom would've had one of these? Love this thing!

I purchased this product. Did realize I needed the food grinder attachment as well .. good thing I purchased the metal grinder. And the fruit strainer does not fit the metal grinder .this is not ok I should not have to purchase to separate grinders that do the same thing. Now I need to purchase the plastic grinder? This is not ok . The plastic grinder is the same price as the strainer.

I really like the fruit and vegetable strainer. Just wish I'd know there were 2 separate parts I had to order. The pucture is misleading.

Isnt compatible with the kitchen aid meat grinder we have. Even though the picture shows it being used with the plastic meat grinder

I got this as a gift to use with my KitchenAid food grinder, but the part that's supposed to fit into the attachment hub doesn't match the notch at all. It won't lock in or even go in, making the whole attachment unusable. Yes, I have the food grinder attachement required to use this attachement. Why would a brand‑new KitchenAid accessory not fit my mixer? It is not the old style and it is not refurbished as far as I know (again it was a gift). I have no receipt so I dont know when it was purchased. So I now have a worthless dust collector.
