It is a natural antidepressant that, for me, works better than any prescription drug. I take it in combination with 5-HTP and am very happy with the results. And I feel better about taking something natural instead of pharmaceuticals. I highly recommend it.

I've been using L-Tryptophan consistently for about 11 years. The effect is subtle but noticeable and it does what it is said to with regard to mood stabilization and sleep aid. Three grams daily has been sufficient for me. L-Tryptophan should not be used in conjunction with the class of drugs known as SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors).

Helps with sleep - I take along with GABA, which Bestvite also carries. As with all their products which I have used, the price is great and the quality is always good. Sometimes with other brands, I'm uncertain about quality - but Bestvite is always top notch. Thank, guys!

L-Tryptophan works just like it is said to do: it is an essential amino acid and when introduced into the body either as a supplement or in food (such as milk or turkey) some of it is converted to serotonin which has a beneficial effect on mood and sleep. Do not take l-tryptophan supplements if you are taking SSRI type anti depressant medication. As a vegetarian I can't get l-tryptohan from turkey. I've been using it off and on since the 1980s and it has worked well for me. Bestvite has had a competitive price for this supplement for a number of years.

I use the Tryptophan (along with other non-prescription sleep aids) to help with sleep and most of the time, it really seems to help. I know I can trust the quality of Best Vite products, and that is reassuring - some supplements are not made according to strict standards, but Best Vite products are.

I did not have a good experience with this brand of Tryptophan, it gave me strange side effects, that I didn't experience with the other brand. I felt toxic next morning each time I was taking it. I bought several bottles of it, and now I don't know what to do with it. Well, maybe it's just my personal sensitivity..

Product inferior. Have been using L-tryptophan for nearly a decade as both sleep aid and mood stabilizer. Not only did I find it almost impossible to sleep, but I started to drift towards depression. I verified this by purchasing snd consuming another product and found both sleep and mood improved.
