For smith machine hip thrusts, this item spins! NOT GOOD, because then the exposed, middle, uncovered part of the roll goes right on your pelvic bone after just 2 or 3 reps. If you put more than 100lbs on the bar, goodbye pelvic bone. I pair this item with a folded towel and have to keep the weight light to prevent the roll spinning. This item looks cute and is good for light weight. But I would rather buy a roll that has textured grips on the inside to keep the roll stable. This item has plastic grips which slip! I would not buy again or recommend.
